Franken pushes his lead over Coleman to nearly 250 (150 votes for Franken counted TWICE!)
Star Tribune ^

The intense scrutiny of "voter intent" resumed today by the five-member board charged with directing Minnesota's recount in the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Republican Norm Coleman and Democratic rival Al Franken, and the day's rulings turned the challenger's slight deficit into a triple-digit lead.

Also today, the State Canvassing Board sidestepped the Coleman team's proposal to prevent as many as 150 ballots from being counted twice. Talking about instances when a ballot couldn't be run through a voting machine, requiring a duplicate to be made, the Coleman camp said that such ballots should be counted only if an original could be matched with its copy.

However, board members ruled that the duplicates should not be addressed by the board but in "another forum," said Board Chairman Mark Ritchie. But it will consider the ballots if there are questions about the intent of the voters who cast them, the board said.

If Pawlenty gets rolled by Stuart Smally, I hope Conservatives remember, if and when, the Gov has ambitions for higher office.

Damn right! Pawlenty has been out telling everybody about the ethics in their politics and then he stands by and observes votes being created. If the people can’t push the right button or mark the ballot properly why should people who don’t know their intent get to decide what the voter meant?

Ya know, I wouldn’t be surprised if McCain would actually say that, he is such a slime ball
As far as Franken is concerned, fraud wins once again. Hey I guess if Obama can win based on fraud so can Franken

I’m from New York state.I can’t really criticize any other
state. The good news is that my Rep.Peter King is running
for the Senate seat of Clinton in 2010.

3rd world country.

I can't believe that somebody from FLORIDA would have the gall to question the electoral process in Minnesota. The entire process has been open to the public and all of the rulings by the courts and the canvassing board have been fair. Why would you make that comment?

There's only one answer to this sort of crap (as well as the total abrogation of the public trust by so many in government and business these days), and that is to stop sending our money to our state and federal governments.

If only there was a way to organize and publicize a genuine tax revolt by tens of millions at one time, that would finally get the plutocracy's attention. If only there was a way to encourage millions upon millions of people to refuse to send in their state and federal tax returns next year, as well as to raise their payroll deductions to the maximum.

A tax revolt is the only answer, but getting it organized and publicized in the right way is an insurmountable problem for all but the most wealthy among us. Sigh.

“...put a bullet in Franken’s head, thats the only way justice and fairness will be served up there.”

Yeah, it’s terrible “up there.”

An awful lot of people are running down Minnesota, the United States and our system of elections without knowing what they’re talking about.

The good news is that my Rep.Peter King is running for the Senate seat of Clinton in 2010.

He was my congressman too when I lived in Bethpage.

I used to like the guy before he came out against impeachment of the rapist.

Piss on him now.

It’s really painful to contemplate a buffoon like Franken having such influence in my own life. Maybe now I’m starting to understand why the Mexicans are starting to return to Mexico.

FOS POS...on and on and on...i have lived in several 3rd world banana republic countries and it pains me greatly to say that the elections here USA have indeed become nothing better than the fraud ridden poor excuse of a democracy elections you see in those types of countries. votes are bought, machines and ballots are at the mercy of the precinct bosses, certain individuals and especially government sponsored organizations like the one sided ‘acorn’ crap only want to win and will cheat anytime and always to get their. GOD forbid they ever lose for they will then take to the streets to protest the final outcome...like the gay marriage issue in ca...that too is just like a 3rd world country mentality
