My problem with tasers is that they seem to occasionaly inflict deadly force upon a person in a circumstance where the use of deadly force is inappropriate.
I don't care of there is a 1 in 1,000,000 chance of someone being killed through the use of a taser, that's too many to justify its use in non-deadly force situations.

"Non-compliance" is not an acceptable situation for use of a taser. The police actions and subsequent comments could set this up for a sizable liability lawsuit.

I was watching a show on TV the other day with cops on it who had been tasered voluntarily. They said they have had health problems, some severe, ever since. From what I’ve read and seen cops seem to be using the taser when others means would work. I think they should be outlawed, but I’m sure they will remain as they are an effective way to subdue the sheep.

I thought struggling with the police in a general melee was the neandertal way of writing "Please shoot me" on one's forhead. No? Sad he died, but in this case, the attempt to use a taser should be considered extreme restraint.

tazers, more often than not, have replaced patience and communication skills in this, our newly militarized police state where force is everything instead of a last resort. How sad for the witnesses who watched a man die for no other crime than being ‘disruptive’.
