Good point — north of the Sahara, Northern AFrica has always been part of the Mediterranean world — right from the time of the CArthaginians and Jugurtha. Ethiopia too has always been part of the wider Eurasian world — they even speak a Semitic language, were mentioned in the OT and NT and are among the first Crhistian nations in the world (along with Armenia) — way before Western Europe.
