CNBC analyst: This is just kicking the can down the road.
“They will pay a price at the polls.”
I’m sure the thought of the polls has them quaking in their boots...elections are over.
Someone pointed out that two Airlines have gone through Chapter 11 and doing quite well now.
Elections are NEVER over for career politicians.
They are constantly running for something.
Just look at Obama.. He was running for President the whole time he was a Senator.
So much so he was barely present.
FORD does not have a dog in this hunt, that will probably come later in the “o” era.
Get that Great GM Feeling ??
What do you want to rush out and buy , a PT cruiser or a citation.. ? /sarc
Actually this is a lot better then just the bailout plan. the UAW has to give up a lot more.
The “voter” won’t remember by the time of the next election.
There is only one solution: NEVER, EVER, even consider buying a car affiliated with any of the Detroit 3. IF no one buys their cars, the companies will collapse sooner rather than later, and that will limit the damage to the taxpayers.
And our sniveling President waits until the Friday before Christmas, after sending out intentional misdirection yesterday, to come completely in touch with his inner UAW labor boss.
Merry Christmas, suckers of America—who actually oppose this move!
That’s about $90 / working American.
(based on 150 million working Americans. That would be 151 million, but I’ve excluded the UAW)
Don’t forget the insurance industry after the next round of hurricanes or an earthquake.
Here’s the kicker though, when they collapse, the “loan” is defaulted on ,money spent, and taxpayers will still be on the hook for it.
>What do you want to rush out and buy , a PT cruiser or a citation.. ? /sarc <
Uh, no thanks, I’ll keep my Subaru.
Ninety bucks here, ninety bucks there.
For a “Working American,” that’s real money as opposed to the stuff Congress and the White House are shoveling out.
Suburbans and Yukons are the only thing that GM sells at a profit, at least in this country.
Unfortunately, if the Envirofascists get their way, they won’t be able to produce them anymore.
I doubt the UAW is gonna play ball. They didn’t before.
>>Actually this is a lot better then just the bailout plan. the UAW has to give up a lot more.<<
No, the requirements are so vague that they have no teeth. The UAW is happy because they have enough money to keep on doing the same old thing until the Dems take control.
We need a 2008 Declaration of Independence...
