Shall They Now Have Died in Vain?

Dean C. Haskins

Before now, I never felt compelled to regard myself as a "patriot." It's not that I didn't consider myself patriotic; it's that nothing had occurred in my 49 years that even remotely challenged my deep, abiding trust in our Constitution. My national naivety ended in 2008. My political innocence was the victim of a brutal rape. The media-fueled presidential campaign that ubiquitously ravaged the senses and sensibilities of our general public, held remotely in its grasp a deceptively shrouded secret―an obfuscation so wily, so destructive of the pristine document that had brilliantly guided our republic, that only the most astute, watchful amongst us chose to voice their very founded concern.

Simply put, the Democratic National Committee chose a candidate for president who had never been required to produce even the most basic proof that he was constitutionally eligible to hold the office. That party cavalierly assumed that merely contriving a campaign with all the glitz and glitter of a broadway production would blind the common sense of common people (you know, those "smelly" Washington, DC tourists), and amidst the cunning smoke and mirrors in which they shrouded the ascension of their modern day messiah, they believed all the palm frond waving through which their deity entered the Jerusalem gates would preclude any possible question about his qualifications from those so far beneath them.

They were wrong.

When they first became aware that the decrepit odor of their refuse had reached, and assaulted, the nostrils of constitutional watchdogs, the "hope 'n change" draped thugs responded as the morally wanton are apt to do―with further corruption and deceit. Remember, these vile elitists don't trade in truth, nor do they believe the ignorant masses deserve it. For years, they have relied on their blatant misrepresentations to dupe countless unsuspecting and downtrodden members of society; and for quite some time, they were highly successful. Overly inebriated in their shameful era of social and economic slavery, marketed as "we're the champions of the poor," they blatantly, and arrogantly, misstepped. They plainly had not taken the time to count the cost of pulling a charismatic savior out of the cesspools of Chicago politics, and placing him on the national scene, even though there was a pesky constitutional article that clearly prevented his ascension.

In other words, they lied, which is an overt character flaw of many career politicians.

Now, I have no desire to expound here about the many legal and constitutional arguments that wholly prove Barack Obama to be ineligible to the office of president (barring his providing substantial documentation otherwise). That evidence is available, in abundance, on the internet (since the marxist media that campaigned so heavily for him blatantly refuses to reveal the truth). www.theobamafile.com, www.democratic-disaster.com,www.atlasshrugs.com, and www.therightsideoflife.com are pretty good launching points for truthful discourse. No, my contention herewith concerns what I believe to be my patriotic duty in light of the national perversity that has been so insidiously spewed upon us. And, humbly to place my hope in the American people to echo my response to that which so heavily now weighs upon me. We, as Americans, cannot simply sit back and wait four years for this eloquent atrocity to be voted out of office, for that would certainly not be in the clearly understood spirit of our forebears.

And, it is them, those rugged visionaries, for whom I now opine; for, at the heart of my exhortation, is not a single tinge of party politics. This is not a Republican vs. Democratic issue; this is not a conservative rant against liberals. Nor does it contain, as is often parroted as the bitter, first line of defense of intellectually bereft blind followers, a single thread of racism. This is singularly a call to all Americans to uphold and defend the very document that has allowed us to be so diverse in our ideologies--that beloved tome that has permitted us all to align ourselves with the political parties of our own choosing. Do not mistake, this present aberration threatens those choices we have freely regarded for over two centuries (although, the purveyors of this assault will heartily deny it―until they have grasped the reigns of power and thoroughly satiated themselves with their fraudulent cheap wine).

During this latest campaign cycle, after I had become aware of the deception that was so magnificently peddled upon us, there were several online sites I found that, daily, disseminated more truth, as they were able to uncover it. The more I read, the more I remained completely baffled that America was falling so unknowingly headlong into the destructive trap that had been set. Out of curiosity, I registered at one of them, just to be able to type my thoughts into their message board. I even contacted the chairman of the organization about my inconsequential thoughts; and, because of my particular talents, was asked to produce a video message to our electors, which I did (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sX7uuhHXs-0).

I was thoroughly unprepared for what would follow. The day after I posted it, WorldNetDaily did an article about the video (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=83346). In about a week, more than 27,000 people had viewed it. My inbox was inundated with messages―most, heartily supporting its content, but a relative few voicing mindless, even profane rants, as if I had spoken untowardly about their mothers. What amused me so much about those posts is that so many of them didn't even properly spell the profanities they were hurling in my direction. I was called a "cloun" and a "ritard." I guess that, so far, even "ritards" are entitled to their opinions. I dare not traverse into the many misspelled profanities I have endured (but am dismayed that public discourse has become infected with such open and raw verbal sewage). I even had a radio station from 1000 miles away track me down and ask if I would do an interview on their morning show because they noticed my video was getting so many views.

But, I digress, for this really is not about me, as much as it is about them . . . those historical icons about whom I learned in school, but never imagined I would have to defend in my lifetime. I was in my car, driving a few hundred miles for my job, reflecting on everything that had happened, and something hit me hard. It knocked the metaphorical wind out of me. What I had essentially witnessed for many weeks were basically three classes of citizen responses about this issue: the patriots, who were clinging to the Constitution, and praying that truth would prevail; the obamarrhoids, who obviously neither know nor care about our Constitution; and the constitutionally carefree―those who would have preferred a different outcome in the election, but who are unwilling to don the tinfoil hats that the mainstream media would so readily give them if they stood for constitutional truth. I couldn't help but see a biblical book of Revelation analogy of hot, cold, and lukewarm.

Before you possibly become as profanely incensed as the constitutionally-challenged folks who responded so "eloquently" to my video, please allow me to explain. I actually attribute such patriotic ambivalence to a laziness that has been politically induced over many years―a belief that we merely must subsist during four years of a "bad" administration, and then we'll simply replace it via the next election. Well, please excuse me for pointing this out: but if this presidency is even allowed to exist, then our Constitution won't. If we disregard any article or clause of our Constitution, then we effectively render it ALL to be irrelevant. It either all stands, or it all falls.

But again, I digress. Here's where the solitude of the thoughts I had while driving led me: is my life somehow more valuable than that of Thomas Jefferson, or Patrick Henry, or James Madison? Those men were more than willing to place their lives on the line for their vision and hope for this constitutional republic. Are my breaths to be more highly regarded than those of George Washington, Samuel Adams, or Alexander Hamilton? Hardly. I could never imagine my name even listed as a footnote after theirs. I had to come to a stark realization. If my flesh is of any value at all, it will not shrink from the remote possibility that I may actually have to forfeit my very existence to further this cause. But, relatively, how could that ever compare to the life of a Benjamin Franklin?

It can't.

So, I have no other choice but to place my very existence on the line in this battle for our Constitution (something I highly doubt any of the "cold" or "lukewarm" would be willing to do). My life could nary come close to comparing to those exceptional men who fought against the British for our very existence. So, I will gladly place my name into the arena as a patriot who openly challenges Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility to occupy our hallowed oval office. I'll proudly wear the tinfoil hat so many of you will place on my head, although I don't believe in flying saucers and I know that we walked on the moon. The intellectual weakness of those who would challenge my contentions is clearly observable in their immediate assertions that I dwell with the mentally disturbed amongst us. It is just so typical and expected, that when the message cannot be refuted, the weak resort to vilifying the messenger. To equate the desire of millions of Americans, who want to uphold and defend the Constitution, with deranged conspiracy theorists, shows an inherent dearth of mental acuity and constitutional understanding―or an outright rejection of the heritage that allows me to hold such "absurd" beliefs.

Those voices actually have no place in this discussion, for they lazily take their repose in their utter denial of reality . . . they are those who may, someday, curiously wonder what happened to all of their freedoms, while they breathe, wide-eyed, through their open, drooling mouths. Their ignorance will only be able to baste them in their pseudo-intellectual juices for so long. At some point, they will be forced to admit their complete lack of understanding and utter rejection of truth. Ironically, I wish to prevent that day from fiercely raining down upon them. As maddening as their moronic views are, I hope that the true patriots will be able to prevent them from ever fully understanding how grossly wrong they are.

My senses of patriotism and fair-play have never been more conflicted. I am actually so proud of my country that we were able to exercise our long overdue ability to elect a black man to the office of president; however, this particular black man simply cannot be that person, not only because many believe he is not constitutionally eligible, but also because he continues to conceal any proof otherwise. I want to reiterate that this has nothing whatsoever to do with party politics or race; but I think we can all readily agree that, if the questionable candidate proffered had been on the Republican ticket, the mainstream media would have been all over it like pre-teens at a "High School Musical" premier. That candidate would have never even survived the primaries. But I've not yet figured out how the collective masses of our society could effectively boycott the mainstream media, regardless of how long overdue such a poignant message is.

And I'm not only speaking of the obvious media miscreants such as MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, or Keith Olbermann, and Chris Matthews. They are so openly opposed to historic America that their names hardly need even to be mentioned here. No, I am referring to those who typically appear to wave the flag of individual freedom with their rhetoric. Where have Rush, Sean, and Bill been on this? Neal openly, and shamefully, declared himself to be one of the "lukewarm" constitutionally-challenged short-bus riders in this, and I'm still awaiting his personal on-air apology for publicly insulting so many patriots with his careless words. I guess they have all just believed that tinfoil was not an adequate conductor of media ratings. Shame on them. The Constitution is far more integral to our national existence than their little television and radio shows are. Don't get me wrong; I'm all for their successes in what they expertly do. I just think that, sometimes, our country's heritage must take precedence over Nielsen ratings. I know they had this information. They obviously saw it as detrimental to their bottom lines. What they don't appear to understand is that ignoring this will ultimately obliterate their even having a bottom line over which to concern themselves.

So many rabbit trails, and so little time. Back to our founding fathers. I live within a couple miles of Thomas Jefferson's summer home. It was Jefferson who said, "Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty." Well, my thoughts during that recent lengthy drive have compelled me to discard the bonds of timidity. Go ahead and put tinfoil on my head―if that places me in the company of the likes of Mr. Jefferson, I'll proudly wear it. Our founding fathers risked bullets and arrows, who am I to reject moronic epithets of "flying saucer watcher," "9-11 truther," or merely "birther?" Should this emotionally enflamed discourse turn into a more dangerous physical battle, I am persuaded not to shrink from the scuttle. If something mysteriously happens to me that causes me to be no more, rest assured that he who hastened my demise likely also asserted that I believe I had been probed by martians.

I am ashamed of what my country has allowed to happen, and I am mad that so many continue to ignore the historic significance of the calamity now upon us. Is this a call to arms? I don't think that would be at all appropriate . . . yet. But, a call to phones? A call to emails? A call to public protests? Absolutely. There are still steps our elected officials can take to assure we remain a nation governed by the rule of law―specifically governors and members of Congress. And, they are all likely aware of the remedies available to them. This is a call for my fellow patriots to inundate those officials with your requests that they simply do the jobs for which they were elected.

I am preparing to produce a follow-up video message to our members of Congress to ask them to uphold the solemn oath they took to defend our Constitution, and to cast their objections on January 8 when Congress convenes to verify the Electoral College vote. Having been offered no definitive proof Mr. Obama is actually eligible to be our president, that is their constitutional duty. Pay very close attention to those who choose to do so, and those who do not, and expend your next vote accordingly. Our founding fathers would have vehemently opposed this usurpation of our highest office. Countless hundreds of thousands of American soldiers have fought and died to protect their brilliant vision. Shall they now have died in vain?

If the shredding of the Constitution continues unabated without anyone taking a stand for it regardless of consequences, then yes, all have died in vain since 1776. There’s no way around it.

All of our military have been betrayed by this Congress, by this country (as a whole). It is our duty to preserve the Republic, our military are doing THEIR duty, we are failing them.

As much as I abhor the thought of Obama, the reluctance of thinking conservative leaders to join this cause is because no one seems able to prove Obama was not natural born ... just as no one can definitely prove he IS natural born.

Many influential conservative thinkers consider it a trap.

If they were to join the cause claiming Obama is not natural born..... he just might come out with some definitive proof that he WAS born in Hawaii on the date he claims.

And that would make them look silly.

Clinton pulled these type of mis-direction stunts all the time....

I snail mailed a barrage of letters to Justices Thomas and Souter last month, with little hope it would matter at all. Of course they dismissed the BC case without comment.

I have no faith at all in our government, except the faith that I know they will continue to tax us to death, tax us after death, line their own pockets with our money and subvert the Constitution.

The half of our country who elected a man who has not even shown he is eligible, are total libtards. Uneducated, don’t want to be educated, and vote when they “like” someone! Good grief.

Good article...

Welcome to Free Republic.

If you believe in the constitution to the extent of the writer of the article, and if you continue to post articles of this caliber, you will quickly earn the respect of the old vets around here. Sooner or later, someone will call you a "troll" or "newbie" because you disagree with them on some point, and you have a "date joined" that shows you to be newer here than they are. Don't worry about it... Besides, if you really are a troll we would find out soon enough and you would be ZOTTED!! :-)

Regards,
Raven6

Raven6,

Please let me assure you that this article is not a “post” of someone else’s thoughts. I guess you could say that it is the bursting of my metaphorical cherry here on FR. Nothing negative that ANYONE else has to say will mean anything to me . . . I simply do not care. However, I have no idea what “zotted” means. Care to fill me in?

I’m sure you will find another Freeper who can tell you exactly what “zotted” means, I’ve never had the pleasure of personally nailing one myself but it is very funny to watch!! roflol Again welcome and look forward to future postings!!

Please see the entire Free Republic Lexicon at:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2077468/posts

But for the purpose of saving you some time, from the Lexicon Dictionary:

Zot - Originated by Admin Moderator: There are one or two individuals who, for whatever reason, enjoy signing up new accounts here every single day to post leftist drivel. Sometimes they are vanities from DemocraticUnderground. Sometimes they are articles from other far-left sources. Sometimes they are nothing but vile doctored images or profanity laced tirades. Sometimes they are from legitimate sources but happen to strike the eye of the poster as being something that would infuriate conservatives.

The posters in question always post the articles, and then don't reply. They then post other articles, again not replying. This was going on for months. Jim would confirm by looking at the IP addresses and other aspects of the user's 'footprint' that it was the returning troll, and we would nuke the accounts. This went on for months.

Then some of the opportunists who wanted to harm the forum started a whispering campaign, complaining about articles being deleted. They would play off of the fact that the trolls' articles were being pulled to complain that there was some sort of agenda of squelching legitimate conservative postings going on by the moderators.

One day I decided to try something new. I decided, instead of letting the trolls get what they want and have their posts up as flame bait, and instead of pulling the threads outright, I would move their post aside and replace it with something that hopefully others would find humorous. I would do this out in the forum for all to see. The original piece would be available through the history link for the curious, who could see if there was some sort of censorship campaign going on. And the freepers could have fun mocking the troll if they so liked.

It so happens that the way I did it the first time was using a screen shot from Caddyshack, where the pastor gets hit by a lightning bolt. Being a bit of a fan of the comic strip "B.C." I captioned the photo with the lightning bolt sound that Johnny Hart used in his strip- ZOT! That is where the term Zot originated.

Now, sometimes we "zot", and sometimes we simply pull it. It depends on a number of factors, including how busy we are at the time. But whenever you see a Zot, you can be sure that the user was a 'newbie' who was doing their hit-and-run posting, and that if you as a well-established freeper thought the article would have made an interesting discussion, then you could probably post the same piece yourself without incident (although the most vile of the stuff probably would get pulled, and Jim reserves the right to remove anyone who he feels is constantly trying to push leftist propaganda on the forum). Anyway, that is the history and background behind zotting.

End of dictionary segment...

Glad you're with us... Raven6

What we are always losing sight of is that it's that it's Obammy's responsibility to prove he's a natural-born citizen -- no one else's.

Of course, this will all come to a head if he hasn't proven he's qualified by the time it's time to take the oath of office, for that will be the first instance of him breaking the law.

If he can't prove he's a natural-born citizen by that time, I doubt very much if he will show up for inauguration ceremonies and chance being handcuffed and arrested for impersonating the president-elect of our country.

With all due respect, that is about as likely to happen as Barbara Streisand voting Republican.

The country would be torn apart with riots, economic turmoil, strikes, and a host of other protests.

If it cannot be definitely proved Obama was foreign born, then he will be sworn in as normal because no one will have the proof to file a charge.

If Obammy cannot prove he is qualified to serve as president and the PTB inaugurated him anyway, the country deserves to be town apart with riots, economic turmail, strikes and a host of other protests.

Of course, Obammy should be patriotic enough to avoid all this by showing a simple piece of paper he has in his pocket. If that's all it took, wouldn't you?

That most certainly would not be the FIRST time he broke the law. How about over $600 million fraudulently raised in his campaign? If he, indeed, is not eligible, then all the fraudulent fundraising was a felony.
