Pro-Life Rick Warren to Give Invocation at Obama Inauguration
CBNnews ^ | 12/17/08 | David Brody

Posted on 12/17/2008 10:53:08 AM PST by NormsRevenge

Pro-life pastor Rick Warren will give the invocation at President-Elect Barack Obama’s inauguration. It makes a whole lot of sense. Even though Warren and Obama disagree on the life issue, they do see eye to eye on many social justice issues. This move is also classic Obama because it is a signal to religious conservatives that he’s willing to bring in both sides to the faith discussion in this country. Obama has never shied away from that.

The benediction will be led by Reverend Dr. Joseph E. Lowery. The Civil Rights leader seems to be the perfect pick on such an historic day in this nation’s history. Watch Reverend Lowery preach with Barack Obama watching here.

The full program is below: (by the way, The Brody File was not asked to take part in the ceremony. I wanted to read some of the "Best of The Brody File" blog entries but they said thanks but no thanks)

Not a big fan of religion of any sort, but Billy is a great man who walked the the walk and talked the talk. Warren and Osteen aren't fit to shine his shoes.

Of course, Melissa Scott may just get me to consider Christianity again...

Wow. Not at all what SaddleBack's own website says. At one point, did you know that Daniel was consulted by a god-less king? I could find more examples...Isn't it sad how quickly 'the church' becomes 'an accuser of the brethren'...

Who was that godless king you speak of? Scripture please.

>> However, if Rick Warren uses the occasion of this invocation to call upon God to protect the pre-born, then he will be seen as having done the right thing.

Indeed. Praying for mercy isn’t a bad thing.

Giving an invocation isn’t tantamount to “supporting” him. But I’ll listen carefully to what he prays.

The San Francisco Boys Chorus and the San Francisco Girls Chorus

Is this boys and girls as in children, or the San Francisco definition.

More properly, Nebuchadnezzar, idolatrous king of Chaldean Babylon (basically Iraq), was given a dream, by the God of Israel, which could neither be described nor interpreted by any of his pagan “prophets”. Daniel was called upon because he was known for interpreting a previous dream correctly (of a man in prison with him).

He was the king of Babylon and God tried to warn the people of Judah the king his servant was coming but they would NOT listen to Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 27:6 And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, *My servant*; and the beast of the field have I given him also to serve him.

Check out Daniel 4

True. But by the time of Daniel 2, they were already in captivity. But there was the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem separately, IIRC. Samaria was taken by the Assyrians (off the top of my head). But I think that’s correct.

Yes and through Jeremiah God tried to tell the kingdom of Judah what was going to happen they refused to listen.

Samaria was the name of the land and the occupants were the House of Israel, Christ called them the 'lost sheep' of the House of Israel. The majority are still lost and they according to what God said was going to happen do not know who they are even to this day. And neither does this Warren character.

What they *won’t* give them is Salvation in Christ. The only thing that will last. They have been taught the Bible is basically unreliable so when someone claims that islam is a “sister faith” they don’t have the backbone or the knowledge to refute such an antichrist lie

We all know what happened to that preacher for profit that God use his own 'donkey' to tell him what was what. Who knows if this character even ranks that high up on ones needing to have their attention gotten. But no one should be surprised he would beat himself a path to religious grandeur.

My guess is he was the 'cheapest' on the list to pay to pray.

marrying and giving in marriage

I don't read the reason for the flood being over normal marriages.
