I'm done with John McCain
The Daily Kenoshan, Kenosha, Wis. ^ | 2008-12-17 | Lisa Loring

Posted on 12/16/2008 10:58:21 PM PST by rabscuttle385

I normally don't stay up late enough to watch Late Night with David Letterman, but I happened to catch a little of it Thursday night, when Sen. John McCain was on. David Letterman make a rude joke about Gov. Sarah Palin, and John McCain laughed at it. That is when I realized I am done with John McCain.

. . . . .

If I were Rod Blago, I'd use some nice four-letter words to describe how I feel about Sen. McCain, but I'm not, so I won't.

. . . . .

I'm glad Sen. McCain didn't win the election. This way, I don't have to defend him anymore. If he were president, and he screwed up, or did something that was moderate, Republicans would have gotten the blame.

I'm washing my hands of Sen. McCain.

I'm tired of defending RINOs.

I'm not doing it anymore, and I know many in the Republican party are tired of it, too.

I’m done with the republicans at large. Didn’t they play McQuueg in the game? Now they got what they wanted NOTHING. The only viable candidate at the time was Mitt. Would have enjoyed him playing out NoBomba. Not a fan though but would have enjoyed it.

Ahhhhh.

If the RNC nominates him in 2012, most of the same ones who voted for him in 08 would vote for him again.

They didn’t seem to mind turning a ‘blind eye’ to him and his foibles after he got the nomination.

Trouble is, McCain was still McCain, and McCain is still McCain. Same then, same now.

Glad he didn’t win? That is only because you now realize how severe ‘buyer’s remorse’ would have been.

Contrast sourpuss McCain's damning silence after the election while his staff trashed Governor Palin and his blunt refusal to endorse her for 2012 with her abject refusal to criticize Juan, even as the hits kept on coming.

'nuff said.

Buyer's remorse? We got a Trabant when we could have had a Pacer.

At least one was American.

“Sen. McCain was not my first pick for the GOP candidate for President. Or my second. Or my third...”

He was my ninth choice, out of the nine initially running. I never thought I’d be able to vote for him, but like everyone else, I did so just to vote against 0bama.

But he’s turned out to be worse than I ever thought. Sarah continues to defend him, while he won’t do the same for her. Idiot!

It is really sad when we can’t say we voted FOR a candidate.

In the last eleven Presidential elections, (including '08) I've had the luxury of voting FOR a candidate on only two occassions.

Welcome to my world.

Carly Fiorina was on F & F this AM defending McCain's words....it was total hogwash!

What upset me more was Gretchen appeared to ask hard questions to Fiorina about this...

..but after Fiorina finished with her weasel words, Gretchen slobbed all over her as it appears they both graduated from Stanford & Gretchen couldn't wait to gush...

This just reinforces what I've longed suspected...

..We make a mistake if we think F & F... or some of them at least... are on 'our side'....

.. they're simply scripted ...

.. and not invested in the least with what matters to us in flyover country.....it's just a job!

Not me. Was willing to vote for Palin and against Zer0, but won’t ever vote for a non-conservative republican (NCR) again. (R-INO is now an outdated term - most repub pols are libs/Washingtonians).

There is NO proof of this.

None.

I’ve actually discussed the “randomly selected govt” with some pretty smart people as a superior system. Would we get some losers/libs? Yup, but much less corruption, too. Also, the leeches of society would not be able to vote themselves pols who give them handouts. On top of that, a random collection of Americans would probably be a lot more competent than most people think. After all, for all their flaws, juries really do usually call things right, at least more often than Congress does, and they are composed of randomly selected groups.

Sure wish we knew what the “rude joke” was so we could all make up our mind if it was rude, off-color, poorly worded, insulting, or whatever. Would the writer have preferred McCain wave a fist in his face, jump up, and storm off the stage, or just tell him the joke was not called for and then have the host nail McCain with the line you KNOW he was holding in reserve.

Some people need to be adults. Letterman is a TV show, people that stay up to watch it DON’T HAVE LIVES ANYWAY! They DON’T MATTER!

Me too. As a New Yorker who feels like she is having royalty imposed on her I cannot support anyone who wants to sit and hold hands with these guys. And Newt is insane if he thinks he can run for President (which I think he does)

If it took him that long, he wasn’t looking at the real issues with McCain in the first place.

Ya, nice rant.

Too bad most of it’s false, inaccurate or unsubstantiated.

He’s also had conservatives on too and made his positions known quite clearly on that show. Hannity and Colmes was con vs lib for years and had great ratings. O’Reilly has libs on all the time too. His ratings are the highest. So obviously it works for Fox and isn’t all Huck’s doing.
