Israel plans to send one of its most senior security officials to Moscow tomorrow to express concern over Russia's decision to renew contacts with Iran for the sale of advanced anti-aircraft missiles, Haaretz has learned.

Israeli officials said the government will send the Defense Ministry's Diplomatic-Security Bureau Maj.-Gen. (res) Amos Gilad to try to dissuade the Kremlin from supplying Iran with S-300 missiles - which would significantly complicate any military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities.

Golly, I hope it's that super-duper anti aircraft missile system they duped the Syrians with.

Those things were friggin’ unstoppable in Operation Orchard.

Look, if you were offered, would you buy a Russian car? I mean a brand new one, not one ditched in a Minsk potato field, brand new off the lot.

Didn't think so.

You'd have to be dumb as an arab to buy anything with moving parts from the Russians. Good luck Iran. Only a language separates you from the dumbest people on earth.

Their newer stuff is better, by how much, who knows? (I understand the reason for Iran’s new AA is to avoid that situation.) Another problem is the exposure is much higher/longer in an attack on Iran. Throw in the lessons Russian technicians learned the last time the AA was hacked/defeated and it certainly won’t be easier or even near as easy as bombing Syria was. This just adds to the “reasons to do it before O is inaugurated” list. That promise of “if Iran nukes you we will nuke them” is a solid reason to do it now too. If Israel was run by me, we’d bomb tonight, tomorrow, and maybe even the next day.
