He is a good guy. I have always liked him.
The mayor of Houston is about to announce as a Dem candidate. He's an egotistical jerk I've heard from people who've had up-close encounters with the guy.
This Texan will be voting for Michael Williams. He will be a huge improvement over KBH.
I'd be finer with Kay Granger.
Neither can I nor, I imagine, anyone who reads it. It says absolutely nothing of substance and is just so much pap. If he sticks to those points he won't inspire many people to jump on his bandwagon. He might be a nice guy but these days you know where nice guys finish in politics...
Personally, I don’t think that Texas needs to send another “pro-choice” woman to the U.S. Senate.
Williams is running for Senate instead of Governor in Texas.
Looks like Kay Bailey wants to quit early.
Kay wants to run for Gov.
Also in the running is state Senator Florence Shapiro, a former Mayor of Plano.
Did you see this, DJ? Michael Williams is running for the Senate, not the governorship. Frankly, I think it’s a good move, given the crowded gubernatorial field (with Perry and Hutchison running). And if Hutchison leaves the Senate early to run for Governor, maybe Gov. Perry can appoint Williams and he’ll have the power of incumbency in the primary and general.
He's a longtime friend of W's from Midland. He was on Bush 41's presidential primary campaign staff in 1980 and then the Reagan-Bush '80 campaign.
If this guy is for real; he has my vote. I can’t link him.
I’ll vote for him!
This sounds like a good idea! I hope he’s pro-life, pro-family, etc.
I just hope and pray the Democrats don’t do to Williams what they did to Michael Steele when he ran for the Senate in Maryland (they used racist “Oreo” slurs).
I just can’t believe how Democrats treat black Republicans. It is deplorable!
Good to finally put this information out...Might see one or two more throw their name in the hopper for this seat...
But Mike Williams is more solid than any of the others I heard who were considering doing this...
As far as how he matches up to Bill White...It’s going to be a tough road to hoe for MW...With the momentum the dims have going these days...
I hope they stay on message and go after the democrat agenda instead of Bill White personally...But I would obviously prefer a conservative in the Senate than a liberal...
If the shift in the Texas delegation brings KBH home to shoot for the govenors chair...I hope there is one person who has not been a part of the Washington that finally throws his name in the race for Texas Govenor...
Time will tell...
All 5 of his points seem to be head on. When do the dems start hurling “Oreo” cookies at him?
My understanding is that Michael Williams is a pro-life Catholic, and that he’s a conservative across the board. DJ, would you agree with me?
Yea. I doubt Kay will quit early. She will probably opt to hold the senate while running for Gov.
If she quits, Perry will appoint someone who has already promissed to endorse him as Governor.
I didn’t think he was catholic... Probably Baptist.
