Spare a thought for New York where Caroline Kennedy wants a sit-down with Governor David Paterson, with the aim of claiming Hillary Clintons soon-to-be-vacant Senate seat.
Is there anything wrong with that picture?
Well, lets imagine for a moment that its not New York State were talking about, but some province call it the State of Banana in some nameless republic rife with dynastic politics.
Heres a sample of the politics:
Eight years ago, a Senate seat from the Banana State was won by the wife of a sitting president of the republic. That wife had never before resided in Banana State, but she bought a house there, campaigned with the aura and entourage accorded to a presidential spouse, and with one leap, winning her first elected office ever, she became a senator...

Camelot is a fairy tale that drones on and on like a never-ending Story on meth.
Uncle Prince Teddy has been bouncing around the Senate halls like he's actually accomplished something other than loading another bilious bill on the suckers he represents. He should have spent some time in prison for the shocking death of one of his supporters.
Senator Hitlery has helped turn her state into New Yarkansas and now, as governor, they have yet another blind stumblebum of a crooked politician who would pull the same crap Bloggy did if he thought he'd get away with it.
Caroline, like Obomba the president boy, will make a lousy senator, but then New Yarkansans are accustomed to pond scum ruling their lives as well as the rest of us.
Sweet Caroline, bad times never seemed so bad. So bad, so bad, so bad.
Now taking donations to get myself out of here.
I think that New York should definitely do this. It will reinforce long-held skepticism about the state’s inability to govern itself. Plus it should be really fun for us watching yet another Democrat seat-warmer make an idiot of herself.
Don’t worry...whoever takes the seat will be a certified idiot.
Don’t worry...whoever takes the seat will be a certified idiot.
I will also note that where the disease is systemic it is invariably liberal strongholds.
You can leave if you really want to. In 1977 I packed what I needed into a Honda Civic and moved to Alabama. No regrets. No tears goodbye.
Quite financially constrained here. No certified skills either. And if I think of leaving everything behind, it will be practically everything.
The one thing I liked about Caroline is that she stayed the hell out of politics. Well, that’s over with. I do wonder, though, if it were Teddy putting her up to it.
The OAK BEACH INN had it right years ago when local government corruption issues forced them to close..they handed out tens of thousands of bumper stickers to disgruntled patrons that said “GET OUT OF NEW YORK STATE BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.”
It’s so insanely sad isn’t it? She is virtually gaurranteed to get the seat simply because of her name and connections. Experience, morality, whatever, all be damned! She is a Kennedy and she shall be the one!
It is not just NY, it is the entire body politic of the US and it involves both parties. Elected offices are now inherited or bestowed based on blood or marriage. The Kennedys, Bushs, Doles, Clintons, Bonos, Daleys, Dodds, Bayhs, etc. The list is endless. The Senate has becomee the House of Lords.
Paterson: “Ms. Kennedy, I just can’t see you in that senate seat.”
and in the mix for the open Senate seat in Ill.
is Christopher Kennedy s/o Robert and manages the Chicago Merchandise Mart, formerly owned by old Joe Kennedy
Then they will give the retiring Senators seat to a women that only has as her credentials is a former President as her father and a former Senator as her Uncle.
Where in Alabama? I hope it’s Roll Tide Roll.
With Cayuga as your name were you from Tompkins County?
I’m currently living in Horseheads and hope to leave for either FL or MS.
Mobile.

The Cayuga comes from a creek near my childhood home in Niagara county.
I wish you the best in FL or MS. Leave your snow shovel behind.
