A different take on the Iraqi "shoe thrower." Unlike the rest of the liberal mainstream media I show how the incident validated Bush's policy in Iraq.
I am also happy to say that excerpts from my piece were read by Bill Bennett on his show this morning and he linked to it on his website.
Human Events will also be linking to it.

Nice article.
After drily informing reporters in Baghdad yesterday that the missiles had been size 10s, Mr Bush was joking again as he gave an impromptu press conference aboard Air Force One headed for Afghanistan.
“I didn’t know what the guy said, but I saw his sole,” he said.

So it’s ok if I throw a shoe at the messiah now?
Free speech is free speech. Throwing anything is assault.
On the President of the United States.
I am still furious.
I heard that this morning! I also heard your call yesterday on Bill’s show...great job!
So long s you hit him.
I am pissed as well, not only about the disrespect shown to Mr Bush;but those camel jockeys burning the flag in the streets.I say lets get the hell out from over there;& let them kill each other...5000 American lives laid down ;our economy in ruins? If any Iraqi had any sense of decency at all;they should speak up & apoligise to the American people;instead of making that ass a “hero”...
Thanks.
Make sure you email Bennett about your interest in this subject.
I want to turn it around against the media libs.
Some Iraqis did apologize. Read my article.
I tried to accomplish two things with this piece. One was to turn this incident into a positive. Yes it was an assault - nothing that would get you tossed in jail in most places though. Yet, it did - as President Bush himself said - showed that there is more freedom in Iraq.
There is more freedom because of him, our military and the American taxpayer. There is more security here at home for the same reasons.
The other was to let people know what the AP Reuters CNN and the rest didn’t tell people. 95% of Iraqis were apologetic, Bush was praised by Maliki, the troops gave him a very loud and enthusiastic welcome.
Please, read the piece carefully.
One thing is certain. A protester is freer and safer in Iraq than in among Democrats in Philadelphia.
The Iraqi journalist is a lot better off than the guy and his sister who protested Bill Clinton’s visit to Philadelphia in 1998 and the guy AND THE GIRL were assaulted by Bill Clinton’s Democratic Party Teamsters goon squad for holding a sign.
Here is the news report from 1998:
Mr. Adams suffered head injuries (including a concussion), lacerations, bruising, and a herniated (neck) disc. He was treated at an area hospital.
Ms. Adams, who tried to protect her brother, was bruised but not seriously injured. (She was still attacked by the Teamsters but not seriously injured).
The October 2, 1998 attack occurred as Mr. Adams marched with a sign calling Bill Clinton a “liar, pervert, national shame.” Two Teamsters snuck up behind him and ripped the sign out of his hand.
When he and his sister turned around to retrieve it, they were encircled by a mob of Teamsters led by (then) Local115 officer and IBT Vice President, John Morris.
The attack was captured on videotape by local news stations and broadcast nationally at a time when (then) Mayor Ed Rendell was trying to attract both the 2000 Democratic and Republican National Conventions to the “City of Brotherly Love.”
Mr. Rendell’s spokesman, Kevin Feeley, caused a public uproar when he responded to the incident by saying, “they [the anti-Clinton protestors] chose to make their views known in the faces of Teamsters — that, generally, is not a good career choice.”
