Just amazing. The great lengths that drug cartels will go. Again, I say legalize it and take the criminal/monetary rewards out of it and it will save a lot of lives. The focus needs to be on prevention and rehab. All the billions we are wasting fighting a problem that we'll never win. Sure, we'll win some battles but we'll never win the drug war. Just pathetic.

My concern is the terrorist applications of such craft.

Unfortunately, drugs and alcohol have been at the root of all of America’s social problems since the beginning (see Alexis De Toqueville’s “Democracy In America”). If we legalize illicit drugs, ceasing to stigmatize them, we will have a nation of aenesthetized population who will demand that the government bail them out of their dysfunctional lives. That will mean the end of any hope for a liberty-based government.

The idea looks good on paper but falls apart in practical use...like communism.

...Captain Nemo was a guy who destroyed warships in an attempt to end all wars.

I doubt this guy is doing that.

Apparently we haven’t learned anything from the Prohibition era.

If they can't make money transferring drugs, they could always turn to something else to transfer, other illicit cargoes,"

Like guns or terrorists ?

Maybe we should sell a cartel a real sub for millions of dollars with a couple of homing devices on it. We could track their movements, let them drop off a load, watch where it goes and end up seizing most of it and busting a lot of people along the way, and then on the next load of a several tons seize the sub and the entire load.
