“His birth was announced and published a day or two after the fact in a Hawaiian paper, as is usually the case after a birth.”

Fourth from the bottom of the page listing births.
On the COLB released by the Obama campaign, his DOB is stated as Aug 4, 1961.
The date of the newspaper announcing his birth is Aug. 13, 1961, 9 days later.
Anyone can put an announcement in the newspaper, do you think the newspaper demands seeing the original birth certificate, before publishing an announcement?
IOW, the announcement means nothing.
There is some Hawaii statute that people posted before, that says, that anyone who resided in Hawaii for a year, can get a Hawaii birth certificate, even if not born there.
Isn’t that sweet!
Grandma Dunham did that for all her grandchildren. Maya Soetoro Ng, too, who was born in Djakarta, Indonesian (Obama’s sister).
The announcement could easily have been placed by proud grandma Madelyn Dunham after her daughter telephoned her in Hawaii after giving birth in Kenya. Daughters do occasionally telephone their mothers in this circumstance.
Besides, a newspaper birth announcement is not an official document, and there is no legitimate reason for Obama not to have released an authenticated birth certificate containing the name of the hospital where he was born and the name of the doctor or midwife who delivered him.
This is all old stuff.
Dated August 13th. More than enough time to call in the birth announcement from Kenya which took place on the fourth.
