I have yet to address the welfare eligibility issue. So far I’ve escaped it. But if you want to debate welfare, note that the law was different in 1961.

Naturalized citizens have all the same rights, and have had access to all the same government programs as natural born citizens.

The only difference is that naturalized citizens can't run for president.

The reason I brought this up is that some people on this thread have be saying that Obama's mom tried to fake his birth in the US so that she could get him citizenship, which in turn would give him access to the rights of citizenship, as well as welfare. This argument is absurd because you don't need to be a natural born citizen to get these things. A naturalized citizen can get them too, and it is very easy for a citizen mother to naturalize her child. This was just as true in 1961 as it is today.

The only reason Obama's mother would have to fake his birth in the US is if she had the incredile foresight to imagine him running for president.
