Vice President elect Joe Biden begins to shape the office to fit the man, “I refuse to accept more responsibility than I can handle. Dick Cheney is a much more capable leader so the office expanded. Well, the Vice President office now needs to shrink, considerably”

Never forget that Joe Biden is a natural born citizen of the USA. That fact makes him the constitutionally elected acting POTUS, which may or may not prove important in the fullness of time.

Biden will just be a typical Democratic VP. Democratic Presidents usually keep their VP in a closet with little or no responsibility other than to be ready to be president is the president is incapacitated.
Republicans, on the other hand , usually have strong VPs. Cheney, GHW Bush, Nixon.
I suppose that Dem Presidents are too insecure to allow a strong VP

Are people really comfortable with Cheney’s view that the vice president is an office unto itself? I’m not.

The Vice President is a hybrid executive-legislative office in a plain reading of the Constitution of the United States. ARTICLE I gives the veep a Senatorial position and ARTICLE II gives the President exclusive executive authority. Implicitly, the Vice President is an inferior executive to the President. The Vice President explicit executive duty is assumption of the Presidents Office under defined circumstance.

Article. I.
Section. 3.
The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided.

The Senate shall chuse their other Officers, and also a President pro tempore, in the Absence of the Vice President, or when he shall exercise the Office of President of the United States.

Article. II.
Section. 1.
The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President...

In Case of the Removal of the President from Office, or of his Death, Resignation, or Inability to discharge the Powers and Duties of the said Office, the Same shall devolve on the Vice President, and the Congress may by Law provide for the Case of Removal, Death, Resignation or Inability, both of the President and Vice President, declaring what Officer shall then act as President, and such Officer shall act accordingly, until the Disability be removed, or a President shall be elected.

Biden MUST shrink the VP’s role — he's incapable of doing any other than the minimal tasks.....

Let’s wait and see. Ole Biden has been known to throw around a few words, them take them back, or throw them in a different direction. Remember when he graduated from college, he had 4 degrees????

Biden just named the Time's DC chief as his spokesperson.

A)I don't want Biden to have a spokesperson, I'm going to miss the gaffes.

B)Should we now look forward to the Times Average Biden Fan on the Street?
