There’s nothing wrong with Obama or his staff discussing, in a general sense, whom they’d welcome as Obama’s Senate replacement. It becomes wrong only when the discussions enter into tit-for-tat territory.

I’m a little confused. What are they wanting Rahm to resign from—his new proposed job, or his old job? He has not yet resigned his Congressional seat to my knowledge, and he hasn’t officially taken on his new job, so....

Did the tapes show that he was merely discussing the seat, or was he caught in the pay-to-play stuff? If he got caught making some sort of offer, this is going to be HUGE.

I can’t see anything wrong per se about Emanuel talking to Hot-rod’s staff about the Senate seat. Since it’s all on federal wiretaps, Rahm would probably already have been frog-marched if there was anything incriminating there.
