Wasilla Bible Church 1651 W. Nicola Avenue Wasilla, Alaska 99654 907-376-2176

The Wasilla Bible Church will meet at Wasilla Middle School, 650 E Bogard Road, at 11:15 am only on Sunday, December 14th. It is likely there will be limited or no child care or programs this Sunday. Our building was damaged by a fire Friday evening, and will need repairs before we can resume worship there again. Praise God that no one in the building was injured, and pray for us as we rebuild. We will likely meet at the Middle School for a while until the building is ready again. Well update this page once we reschedule locations and times for events as we celebrate our Saviors birth. The normal web page will return once the offices are restored. Here is the link to the other parts of our website. Dates and times may not be correct if the location is the Church building. The telephones are not working right now, but email is functioning.
Thanks for providing the mailing address. Our tithe this month will go to that church....all part of the Body.
Thanks for this.
I’m sure Sarah can help them out. She’s certainly had a banner year financially. She earned it. She has more coming in than the majority at FR.
What you say may be true but that isn’t usually the point of giving.
Yeah, just like those evil CEOs and oil companies, who can afford to have their taxes raised, they won’t miss it./sarc.
I’m sure they had fire insurance. The church will probably be restored to a better and more beautiful condition than it was before.
An insurance agent in whom I have vast trust (for good reason) told me that the reason some people and institutions get into trouble following a fire is that the insurance provides for restoration, but then the insured decides to upgrade a little bit here, a little bit there, we needed a new thus-and-such anyway, as long as the wall is open let’s put in a new so-and-so. And pretty soon they’ve added a hundred grand in upgrades to what the insurance carrier was willing to pay out.
It is with this sort of thing that the church is going to need help from the rest of the Body, not with the basic reconstruction. I hope that this time they put in far more elaborate security than they had anticipated needing pre-2008.
How about a Freepathon, which would get the Church some money, and raise the profile of FreeRepublic on Govenour Palin’s radar?......( and bug the heck out of the lefties)
What makes you say a thing like that?
EXCELLENT IDEA!
So? Maybe we want to help her and the Wasilla Bible Church?
Just sent my money.... Hope they raise 20 million just from all us freepers...
No offense but I think we should keep the politics out of it. Someone should get the issue on Rush.... I just sent 100.00 It is tax deductible in case others want to join in. I think we could get to at least 10 million by.... CHRISTMAS..
You'll be feeling some flames yourself, for that, but I'm on your side. I wouldn't even donate if my own church caught fire. They don't speak out against the murder of the unborn, and they don't help people in the community who become homeless due to fire, people who have no insurance. I open my wallet for those people. Most folks I know who are in a position to help, do likewise. Never has our priest phoned to ask me to help a particular family, and he knows I could.
One of the life lessons I've had, which I particularly prize, is that individuals help individuals, and collectives help themselves.
That off my chest, I know nothing about this church in Wasilla and they may be exceptions to the general rule.
I’m sure she can and will, but see post 5.
I was pointing out that any commercial building must carry insurance--the mortgage lender will mandate that, and in most cases even a church will be built via a construction loan and thus will have a mortgage. Usually the restoration makes the building as good or better than it was before. The contributions from other believers would probably be needed for upgrades that come naturally during a reconstruction, such as a new security system.
Our church has an unbelievable and frankly creepy security system. Sad to say, it has come in handy on a number of occasions. Putting it in was smart on the part of the pastor.
On the other hand, if for some reason the church in Wasilla did not have property insurance, they are idiots and will need help from the Body of Christ in basic reconstruction.
I’m not telling anyone to avoid donating, either. People can make up their own minds. Just my .02.
For all we know, Wasilla may have the worthiest congregation in America.
I will send them a check. Thanks for the link.
Certainly Sarah will help, and so can we.
Team Sarah is urging its members to contribue, too. http://www.teamsarah.org/
Just a reminder, anyone interested in supporting Gov. Palin should join Team Sarah.
