Area man leads Obama challenge (Birth Certificate)

QUEENSBURY — A local man’s challenge of President-elect Barack Obama’s citizenship has been garnering national attention, if not credibility.

Robert Schulz of Queensbury is the founder and chairman of We The People, a group dedicated to upholding strict adherence to the state and U.S. constitutions.

He says there’s compelling evidence that Obama was born in Kenya, not on U.S. soil, which he contends would make him ineligible to become president. On Thursday, Schulz mailed letters to all members of the Electoral College, asking them to delay the Dec. 15 official balloting until the citizenship questions are cleared up.

"We really like this guy," he said of Obama, "but we like the Constitution a bit more. For someone who’s dedicated the past 30 years trying to uphold the Constitution, how could I let this go by and maintain any kind of credibility? It’s up to Mr. Obama to set the facts straight and he refuses to do so."

Facts seem to line up against Schulz’s argument. Hawaii Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino and the state’s registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have said they checked health department records and determined there is no doubt Obama was born in Hawaii.

In addition, the nonpartisan Web site www.factcheck.org examined the original document and said it does have a raised seal and the usual evidence of a genuine document. The site also reproduced an announcement of Obama’s birth, including his parents’ address in Honolulu, that was published in the "Honolulu Advertiser" on Aug. 13, 1961.

None of that fazes Schulz, who placed two full-page ads in The Chicago Tribune and on Monday held a news conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Fukino and Onaka have only confirmed that a record of birth exists there. They have not confirmed what that record says only that it exists.

Every electoral college voter has been put on notice that there is sufficient evidence that BO is NOT a natural born citizen of the U.S.. Therefore, each and every one of them will be in violation of the U.S. Constitution if it is proved later that BO is NOT a natural born citizen should they go ahead and cast their votes for him. Each and every one of them had better think seriously about what they intend to do on the 15th.

Whats really strange is why hasn’t the messiah of the people made a public announcement in a press conference and actually shows his birth certificate, its what tomorrow monday the electoral college votes?
Maybe he will if they do a postponement, or is he all too big in is head to actually believe that he can get away with it? There must be an awful lot of back room promises being made right now to the key people to challenge the truth, to color it, to shade the fine points and to confuse America, a good con is misdirection.

I bet he comes out with an announcement saying he was not aware of his true status and begs the US to just let this slip by because they have spoken for him, yes I would expect him to make that ploy of throwing in the race card to make an exception to the constitution, just for his case.

Obama was adopted by an Indonesian, making him a citizen of Indonesia, which does not recognize dual citizenships. He was definitely adopted, because foreign nationals could not attend Indonesian state schools and Barry Soetoro did.

If he didn’t formally assert his claim to United States nationality within 6 months of his 18th birthday, he lost his right to reclaim his United States nationality on February 5th, 1980. There would be a record of this assertion.

If he used an Indonesian passport to travel to Pakistan in 1981, he’s toast.

This will all come out in time.

Then, of course, is the fact that Obama, a constitutional law instructor, is not a "natural born citizen."

First of all, the health department made no such claim that Obama was born there. They simply stated there are documents filed with the health department that meet the states regulations.

Second of all, Hawaii issued birth certificates to children not actually born in Hawaii. So a birth certificate on file doesn't prove being born in Hawaii. Only the long form of the certificate will prove such.

According to the U.S. State Department, U.S. citizenship must be surrendered voluntarily by an adult, or by an older minor who convinces a consular officer that he is acting voluntarily and understands the gravity of his actions. A parent cannot renounce your citizenship on your behalf.

Also false. Holding a passport from another country has no effect on U.S. citizenship. A U.S. citizen must use a U.S. passport to enter or exit the United States; aside from that, the U.S. government takes no interest.

“Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai‘i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai‘i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures.
“No state official, including Governor Linda Lingle, has ever instructed that this vital record be handled in a manner different from any other vital record in the possession of the State of Hawai‘i.”
