The stinging ones are called “man o’ war” in the Gulf. They look more like little, multicolored balloons with long tentacles hanging under water from them. At times, they float to shore in huge numbers, and it’s always been that way.

A beer bong! Phew.

I was wondering why the liquid in the graphic was yellow. ;P

I saw the infomercial at 3AM and especially liked the jelly fish on jelly fish action.

Jellyfish swarms have been increasingly depleting fish stocks off the coast of Japan and South Korea for some time now.

I don't know if they are the type responsible for that, but I remember seeing these guys in the Yellow Sea off the west coast of South Korea.

Yep, that’s the critter causing most of the problems.

Personally, if I came face to face with one of those monsters, I think the Yellow sea would get just a wee bit yellower (and my wetsuit just a ‘wee’ bit wetter).

There was a harbor not far from our house we named “Jellyfish Harbor,” because thousands of blue-white jellyfish congregated there. The area was the arrival point for Philippine and other logs, floated in big rafts.

Only to be expected. Without a brain, they don’t know when it’s Spring, so they go on wild breaks at any time.

[When Jellyfish Go Wild]

I'm so sorry. I saw the title, and thought this was about Republican Senators.

Damn, I wish I'd thought of that. Genius.
