Ellison: Muslims should apply for Barack Hussein Obama’s 8,000 jobs

Barack Obama’s election with the middle name Hussein (invoked to rile Republican crowds during the presidential campaign) should inspire Muslims to pursue public service and other work, even if they speak with accents or their names are perceived as foreign-sounding, U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison told the recent annual meeting of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). Ellison, the first Muslim member of Congress, followed up on CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad’s plea for Obama to hire Muslims to federal posts by urging American Muslims to apply for some of the administration’s 8,000 job openings.

Exactly, I have never heard of an ad that says Christians should apply, but u will not hear a peep out of the Christians we do have in congress, had it been the other way around Allah would have rioted some where.

I'm going to try and put this politely. IMHO, such posts reflect negatively on Free Republic. Let's tell the truth about Islamic nutjobs, not spread inaccurate stereotypes. A small minority of Muslims wear turbans. In addition, some Hindu and Sikh males wear turbans, and they have nothing to do with Islam. If you recall some idiots went out and killed a Sikh man after 911 because they thought he was a Muslim.

I didn't think I was being negative or stereotypical, but I was perhaps in their dress. Because I've seen a Muslim male in a suit and leather shoes on the Appalachian Trail. Don't know WHY he was there, probably just "checking out the place" and it was about a year before Sept 11, 2001. There was no woman with him, burkha or scarved. And he had no pack or water. (2 miles in from a Trail Head up a steep mountain.)

If the Muslims apply for the 8000 jobs (and how are these people going to get paid? Just print 'new' money to deflate the economy?) then we'll know "where they are."

Most sane people can tell a Sikh or Hindu from an Arab. Most sane people can also tell the difference between a campfire and a church in Wasilla, Alaska, too.

Was I suggesting shooting a terrorist? No, just IDENTIFYING Muslims who, if they're "practicing" are capable of being terrorists. It's in their blood and in their religion of pieces.
