TBILISI (Reuters) Georgia said on Saturday hundreds of Russian soldiers had moved into a disputed Georgian village near breakaway South Ossetia and had pushed out Georgian police, fuelling fears of confrontation.
A regional police official and an interior ministry spokesman said between 500 and 600 Russian soldiers were in the village of Perevi, close to the de facto border with the region.

Not at all.
Your post was far more eloquent. :)
This is troubling. Oil is a major geopolitical issue - certainly capable of starting wars. If KGB Putin is willing to drive the issue beyond influencing the oil supply to actually taking the oil supply by force, that’s a real mess.
I have to wonder what Obama’s teleprompter has to say about this?
John Kerry notwithstanding - Neither the EU nor NATO has ANY moral authority to tell anyone what to do. The EU and NATO has more pressing problems - like the mass invasion of jihadis - than going off into Georgia to meet with little Mussolini- Saashkavili.
They lost all credibility when the bombed Serbia and severed the province of Kosovo to create a new jihadi state.
Even though communists and fascists hated each other, they really have a ton in common. Some say that they are opposites, but this doesn’t make much sense to me. Both want extreme government control, little personal liberty, and nationalization of the economy.
to run up oil and natural gas prices, nothing more and nothing less.
Au cantraire. Russia is standing firm against joining OPEC and so is Norway and Mexico against incredible pressure the cartel.
They just told OPEC to shove it and that they would not conxider joining them.
They have to wait for their, ahem, marching orders from Herr Buchanan first.
Kosovo: the war that won’t shut up.
Russians had remained there after the recent face-off.
First you need to call for a meeting to discuss the issues and terms of the meeting to stop the Russian aggression.
This is just a warm up to the real test which will be in one of the new NATO countries of the FSU. A place like Narva, Estonia which is on the border and is 90% Russian speaking. What will Obambi and the Germans do when Russian tanks roll into a FSU NATO country?
ping
I’m sure the UN will be a busy place , Wonderful
Here we go again...
ATTENTION:
This is NOT another “Poland attacks the Third Reich”.
Reminder: World War III already begun long ago.
So then I’ll be the first.
Georgia’s fault!

You’re 2 wars behind.
WWIII was the Cold War with battles fought in Vietnam and Korea.
WWIV is the fight against radical Islamists who want to send us back into the 16th Century.
WWV is the fight against liberals who want to send us back to the Ice Age to fight Global Warming.
The “western powers” I was referring to are the cringing, knee-crawling bowls of snivel in weak sauce soup of the EU.
The craven cowards can’t wait to sign up as the new Vichy.
Yes, they have all those things in common.Yet, the communists value the “group” over the individual. the fascists value the elite “race” , ie the individual. Yet both have the quality of being dictatorships.
So , in the end, it is still about an all powerful leader with a cadre of government lieutenants running the show with attendant priveleges not available for the “masses”.
Kind of like Chicago. And the ideology legitimizes the operationalization of their tactics and control.
Communists are like the Democrats. Fascists are like the Mob.
And yet, the DNC operates very much like an organized crime syndicate.
Fascism and Communism really only varied in minor details, and who was the Chosen One to serve as head of the cult of personality.
“Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin last week said Moscow had prepared a draft memorandum on cooperation with the 13-member cartel.”
You don’t have to be a member of OPEC to be in league with them.
