Unbelievable. Fulton County is an embarassment. I moved to Gwinnett County about six years ago and couldn’t be happier.

There’s always hope that the Feds could try him for the murder of the ICE agent. It is a death penalty eligible crime.

some acts you think would supercede even the stupidity of a jury pool.

Nichols will still face his final judgment one day, but why even have the law if you are never going to use it.

I am certain all the each council for a Club Gitmo detainee is preparing the brief for a change of venue to Fulton County, GA. To be filed Jan 20th at 12:01PM.

Thanks to the supreme court, judges can no longer hand down death sentences.

"some acts you think would supersede even the stupidity of a jury pool."

Do not, I repeat DO NOT underestimate the ignorance of "urban" America. If Marion Berry can be re-elected ANYTHING is in the realm of possibility. You can "believe dat".

Committing the crime outside of Fulton County would be a start.

...his only regret was not going to another floor in the jail to kill...

This POS will kill again.

Probably just another POS in the prison that he is confined in, but he will kill again.

And, knowing how racist this will sound to some bleeding heart out there, I will say it anyway...he got OJ'd by a jury of his peers.

And they were his peers, notwithstanding the racial and ethnic mix of the jury.

I am fully aware of the jury pool in the Atlanta-Fulton County area.

The cost of the trial and the length probably were factors, the defense just wore everyone down. As far as executions go, Georgia has executed 43 people since the death penalty was reinstituted in 1976, sixth most out of the 50 states and 40 more than the Feds. 16 states haven't executed anyone so I don't think it's a willingness to stick the needle in that influenced this case. That said, it is pretty pathetic that this POS will grow old on the taxpayer's dime.

Were all his victims white? That probably helps him right there despite the perceptions to the contrary.

Mass murder. Four dead and another women kidnapped. How often are mass murderers spared the death penalty?

I’m surprised a Fulton County jury woudd decide anything; they are paid for sitting around, have a warm place to sh##, free meals, and all. Their jury life obviously beats their usual lives as brain surgeons, astronauts, governors, and community organizers.
