Mexican “Paisanos” are countrymen.
The roadrunner (cited in print from 1856) or chaparral bird is often called the paisano (cited in print from 1844 or 1853) in Texas.
So it is being prepared for the illegals heading home to mexico with their american money?
There is a “Paisano Pass” on the highway between Marfa and Alpine. I imagine that name goes back a ways, too.
