I believe the timing in premeditated, but under the guise of investigation it's legal.
Any deal would include all he knows, and if he lies the information
he's already given would be for not, and he would receive full sentences.

At least that's my understanding.

That makes as much sense as anything. I wonder of Obama would dare to pardon him and fire Fitz.

I would welcome that, it would deepen the scandal and ruin the party.
A scandal like this has America's attention.

And all of this before the inauguration, /Bonus.

Hmmmm ... ok .... if a state has 20 electoral votes (for instance) .. that means 20 electors, right?

Isn't it possible that less than 270 electors will actually vote for Zero?

Maybe now that the LA Times is going into bankruptcy like it’s parent the Chicago Trib, they’ll release the tapes to spite Blago and the rest of the Chicago machine.

Hold On, Rezko Sentencing delayed — again

Updated 9:12 PM CST, Thu, Dec 11, 2008

###

Antoin “Tony” Rezko may be waiting to hear his criminal fate a little longer because of the charges against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Hold on, Mr. Rezko. Your court filing deadlines have been canceled by a federal judge. A status hearing is now set for next week.

It appears the future of convicted political fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko may be in limbo after this week’s charges against Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve had been scheduled to sentence Rezko on Jan. 6, but the corruption charges now facing the governor have put the brakes on it.

Rezko, who was convicted of fraud in June, already had his original October sentence delayed because he was reportedly talking to the feds.

Attorney’s for Rezko had asked for a new sentencing date because of issues he was having in solitary confinement at the downtown Chicago Metropolitan Correctional Center.

Rezko remains in solitary because he is considered a high-risk inmate.

While the FBI affidavit unsealed Tuesday indicates the government “is not yet satisfied that Rezko’s accounts are full and complete,” the judge’s suspension of the deadlines for work that needs to be done in the case indicates Rezko’s cooperation is moving forward. Typically, a judge wouldn’t make such a move unless both sides agreed to it, especially in light of Rezko’s pleas for a quick sentencing.

Rezko’s lawyers didn’t returned calls for comment or responded to a visit to their office. A spokesman for U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald declined to comment on the move.

Because Rezko was a big fund-raiser for both Blagojevich and Obama, his cooperation will likely create yet another headache for Obama’s transition team as the Chicago Democrat prepares to move into the White House.

I think maybe there IS some singing going on. Whoop.

And on December 12,2000, the SCOTUS put a stay on the election process in Bush v Gore! Wouldn’t it be nice if they do it again today to resolve the Constitutional qualifications of Barack Obama??

You know, I’ve become cynical enough to believe that if there were video tapes of The Messiah accepting bribes, doing drugs or having sex with men an children, that nation would fall into civil war.

I am buying more shotguns and shells.

Electors have been known to vote for someone other than the person they are pledged to--in 2004 one of Kerry's electors voted for Edwards for President instead. It would be very surprising if enough electors suddenly decided not to vote for Obama to put him under 270.

At this point only one state, Ohio, has exactly 20 electoral votes. Illinois and Pennsylvania both have 21. Probably in 2012 all three of those states will have smaller numbers of electors, since they have been gaining population more slowly than the country as a whole, but I don't know if that means losing one congressional district or more than one after the 2010 census.

If such videos were to surface, the media would be telling us that those activities are OK, since The One did them...just like perjury and sexual harassment were OK when Clinton did them.

JUST IN FROM LEO DONOFRIO!
[UPDATE]: 11:26 AM - Dec. 12 2008 : Rumors of a decision denying Cort’s application are unequivocally false. A SCOTUS Spokesperson just told Cort Wrotnowski there has been no decision. She indicated there will be no decision until Monday. The conference is sealed, no clerks are allowed in.]

What if Emanuel becomes too toxic to have at the White House? Has he actually resigned his Congressional seat already, or just planning to do so when he becomes chief of staff?

The media must be desperately hoping that a big story breaks that will take attention away from this at least for a while so that if any information harmful to Obama comes out it can be downplayed.
