Today, President Bush participated in a meeting on drug use with a group of fellow citizens -- some were pastors, some were ex-cons, some were baseball players, some were docs, some were community activists -- to talk about a comprehensive strategy to deal with drug use in America. Since 2001, teenage use has declined by 25 percent. That means 900,000 fewer teens on drugs." (since Bush was elected). Remarks by the President

Daisy sez: none of the photos grabbed me today so I decided to forego Photo of the Day and have chosen my favorite so far this month.

PHOTO OF THE MONTH:

U.S. President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush pose for their 2008 holiday portrait in the Blue Room of the White House, in this picture taken on December 7, 2008 and released December 9, 2008. Picture taken December 7.

QUOTE OF THE DAY:

President Bush on Thursday said, "And our strategy is threefold: one, reduce demand, interdict supply, and then help people who have become addicts. And we're making progress. No question there's still work to do in America, but we are making progress. And one way to note the progress is this statistic: Since 2001, teenage use has declined by 25 percent. That means 900,000 fewer teens on drugs."

Baseball star Josh Hamilton (R) listens as U.S. President George W. Bush speaks about drug use reduction during a meeting at the White House in Washington December 11, 2008. Despite having a promising professional baseball career, Hamilton developed a debilitating drug addiction that nearly cost the Texas Rangers outfielder his career, his family, and his freedom.

Drug use down, abortion down, euthanasia down.

Good things have happened under this President and his promotion of a culture of life.

That's a beautiful photo.

Thank you President Bush and First Lady Laura for talking care of our country.
God bless you and keep you, May His face shine upon thee and give you rest and peace. You so do deserve it. It's been tough.
You will be missed.
