In an interview with CNN- General Colin Powell said of Gov. Sarah Palin:
"Gov. Palin, to some extent, pushed the party more to the right, and I think she had something of a polarizing effect when she talked about how small town values are good. Well, most of us don’t live in small towns. And I was raised in the South Bronx, and there’s nothing wrong with my value system from the South Bronx."

Folks here are really roasting Powell (and he deserves it), but as someone who myself have migrated in the opposite direction (toward more conservative positions), I can see what’s happening to Powell. He was supposedly independent until after GHWB nominated him to Joint Chief and may have only declared his “Republicanism” out of loyalty to GHWB.
He never really espoused GOP principals and I believe he’s more comfortable with those on the left, just as I have become more comfortable with those on the right. So I think it’s a great trade: The Left gets Powell but you all get ME!!!

I knew it ever since I saw him first cash in on Schwarzkopf's great combat command and then steal the victory away by stopping the war too soon.

Great point. I truly believe in Conservative Republicanism. That being said, I know realisically understand GOP candidates will adapt ideologically depending on what region they’re running in. But I still prefer Conservatives every time.

Let’s see, the liberal arm of the GOP nominated everything Powell said was needed in a candidate in order to win in McLame. Many of us got behind him at least somewhat and what does Powell do?
Does he support a fellow Veteran who displays all the weaknesses he claims will win elections? No, he chooses skin over everything else.
Thank you for your life of Military service, General Powell. But, you made you bed, now lie in it. Let’s see you instill those qualities you so admire in your home boy.

Very good. You should send that to General Bowel to “fesh” his memory. It’s now plain to see, he likes to rewrite history like the Klintonistas. What a HUGE fraud this man is. I liked & respected him once, too.
A problem of mine is that I don’t fit nicely into the “GOP principles” or “conservative” bag.
I dislike big government, income redistribution, high taxes, legislation that supports immoral behavior, wimpy attitude toward national defense. I want my president to be a super-patriot with an eagle’s flesh-ripping beak and claws.
But I wish my national government wouldn’t waste its time on abortion, homosexuality.
Powell should be branded as someone who can’t make an intelligent observation about anything. I think Powell and others that have had military leadership positions are in the best position to decide how the military handles homosexuality.
LOL... I grew up in a city too. There was a “neighborhood watch” long before what they claim to have today.
EVERY neighbor had a BIG mouth, and ratted you out... It was a “conspiracy” I tell ya!
If I screwed up, as for instance: getting sent home from school for misbehavior, I would catch hell from the teacher (she actually grabbed you by your ear and dragged your butt to the office) ... Then the principle would paddle my butt with a yardstick, call my mom, and send me home... Then two or three unknown “neighbors” would scold me on my WALK back home, because they knew you were in trouble... Then my Mom would punish me... then my Dad would take a strap to my butt when he got home... Then on the next day the local neighbors would chastise me! I “toe the line” as an adult because, when I was a boy, you could NOT get away with ANYTHING!
That all changed with some perverted schmuck named Dr. Benjamin Spock, who worked to destroy natural authority in society, and forced the medical establishment to report parents suspected of spanking their children.
The only way to effectively fight “change agents” IS to give them a “blanket party,” tie a couple of cinder blocks around their neck, and then toss their butt into a deep river. That is how we used to deal with those who would corrupt our children.
My grandparents’ generation is just about gone... My parents’ generation is dying out... and my generation is populated by eunichs and poltroons who will not fight for anything. Only a civil war will clear the decks of all the dead wood that infests this Republic... but today none have the guts to pull the trigger.

Colon Bowell went weak in the knees upon seeing the BDA of the Highway Of Death. After a righteous smackdown of the enemy, he wanted to surrender, and convinced Presdt. GHWB to rein in Schwarzkopf.
We could have driven into Baghdad, doing the Thunder Run 13 years early, and nailed Saddam right then. But no, that's not politically correct.
I will never forgive Colon Bowell.
