Think about it...this guy who writes about the world is actually SURPRISED that people on the other side feel as strongly about their beliefs as he does. Absolutely amazing. He doesn't even debate what they're saying..just HOW they say it.

The folks on the Left are quite confident that they are right. It always amazes them that so many people simply insist on being wrong about everything.

They make up for that by insisting we're wrong about everything....

They are so confident that, when things start going south, they always conclude that people who are wrong must be (1) silenced and (2) if that doesn’t work, lined up by trenches. The problem cannot be with socialism. It is perfect and their intentions are pure.

So we email idiots that publish stupid articles, but the left sponsors events such as “A Day without A Gay” and we are the wackos?

Sha, right! Go smoke another bowl Gideon.

My comments to his conclusions:

1) There ARE a lot of us out here who are ANGRY because the Government that we elect keeps screwing us.

2) Atheist...nuff said.

3) MAN-MADE Global Warming IS a hoax. Your buddies don’t even want to call it Global Warming any more. Now it is Climate Change. Well, guess what? The climate in my area of the world changes about four times a year.

4) ‘I would only remove their guns “from my cold, dead hands.”’ - exactly.

Aren’t people on the right also quite confident they are right? You don’t think everyone here on FR thinks they are wrong, do you?

Yes, we certainly don’t want to silence those folks on the left, do we?

I sure don't. Look at how well Republicans did in 2004, the year Fahrenheit 911 came out.

Of course I'm not wrong, at least very often - but I, at least, take the possibility into consideration.

I'm surprised you fail to see the distinction. As a simple example:

The Right opposes the return of the Fairness Doctrine. This is because we like having Rush Limbaugh on the air and we don't want to lose him. The Right is not mounting a political campaign to get Katie Couric or Chris Matthews off the air. We just want to be able to keep our guys on the air. Yeah, we think the other guys are wrong, but we're not repressing their opinion, we're just disagreeing.

The Left thinks they are right -- and they want to use the rule of law to make sure that other opinions are not allowed.

So: Yeah, everyone thinks that they are right. But the Left and the Right approach things differently. You haven't figured that out yet?

Why don't you just come out and say what you truly want to say? Why tiptoe around it?

I don’t either. The more they talk, the more they prove how right we are.

I didn’t wear the proper shoes today, to do anything other than tiptoe.

bible-bashing

And he calls himself a journalist? "Bible-thumping" is what he meant to say, that is, making fun of those who have a strong faith in Jesus and whom believe they should communicate the Good News about His gift of salvation to those who are unfortunate enought to be "unchurched."

"Bible-bashing" is disrespecting and belittling the Bible, which is what authors like this and other Liberals do as long as their lips are moving.

“Yes, we certainly don’t want to silence those folks on the left, do we?”

I’m not sure what your point is. If you are trying to say that conservatives in general are in favor of government censorship of leftists, I think that’s a a bit of left-wing drama that has no empirical support whatsoever. It makes them feel like big-bad rebels, when, in fact, they run the country and have since the 1960’s.

By way of contrast, the left’s affinity for silencing the opposition by government means (fairness doctrine and Hate Speech laws so far in America, Human Right’s Boards in Canada so far) and by bullets (National style Socialists in Germany and Workers-of-the-world-running-dogs-of-capitalism style Socialists in Russia, China, Cambodia, Cuba etc etc etc) is just history to anyone who isn’t willfully blind.

Yeah, we think the other guys are wrong, but we're not repressing their opinion, we're just disagreeing.

We don't have to repress them...the free market does it for us. Liberals, however, understand much better what is good for you than you do. That is why they need judge-driven laws from the bench to force you to listen to Liberal talk shows.

I was bantering with a good-natured Lib in my office, who went on to tell me that I should listen to "other news than just Rush" because I wasn't fully informed. I told him that the MSM is ALL liberal, all the time, and they just wanted to shut down the only opposition they had, which was highly profitable talk radio; which was made highly profitable because people were willing to pay for it. Well, over a half hour of discussion, I found that I knew about Obama's birth certificate (he didn't), the Fairness Doctrine (he'd never heard of it), and a half dozen other items of news that HE never found out, listening only to the MSM. Thanks to talk radio and FR, I am better informed than the people who insist that I need to better educate myself (to be "fair")!
