The people of Michigan to boycott Alabama (big 3 yawn alert) Attack on Sen. Shelby
http://boycottalabamanow.com/ ^

Posted on 12/10/2008 7:42:29 AM PST by Croatoan Mongoose

The mission of this website is hilarious

Our mission is to demonstrate Senator Shelby what the result will be by not supporting the state of Alabama and its industries, (true American industries, not foreign companies that assemble products in the U.S.). We are starting a nationwide boycott of Alabama that will include any travel into the state well as boycotting the purchase of anything produced in any way within the state.

The sad but necessary part of this initiative is that many innocent hard working people will be hurt. Just as many innocent hard working people in the Big Three, their suppliers and many other direct and indirect businesses will be hurt by Senator Shelby’s rhetoric and lack of understanding and support of the domestic auto industry. (Note: It has just been announced that the Senator will try to filibuster the automotive hearings to our dismay).

To those hard working people in Alabama, we apologize for the boycott and the loss of income and future employment from this boycott but please understand that it is within your power to elect a representative who has America’s best interest in mind. Many people have watched as Mr. Shelby spewed inaccurate statements during the senate hearings. It is clear that Senator Shelby has no idea of the inner workings of the Big Three, yet his title allows him to poison the air with non-truths about the domestic auto industry.

The time has come to fight back and work tirelessly to once again build a strong domestic automobile industry. Keep in mind that while Mr. Shelby has been elected to represent the state of Alabama, he is paid by all of the people of these 50 great states. All of our money pays his salary and if our organization had our way, we would put a hold on his paycheck.

This website will be a living document with further links added as information becomes available that will be of value to the reader. Unlike many of our representatives, we will provide the truth and honest information.

As my old grandmother would say: "Hey, Michigan...you'd better be sweeping around your own front door before you start criticizing someone elses!"

"Earth to Michigan: try building cars that folks actually want to buy."

Earth to Da Coyote:

They have been building the cars (actually trucks) that folks want, and the Dems hate that. That is the reason for the 'bail-out,' they want to take control, and make them build the electric lawn mowers with seats that make the people more controlable.

Yes, we are all opposed to the bailout, but so that they can keep on building the cars that we need; not the ones that please the environutzies.

I think Sen. Shelby understands the domestic auto industry quite well. They are infested with a fatal disease the UAW! He also knows that a healthy injection of bankruptcy will help rid the domestic auto industry of the disease. Once the disease is under control the industry will be on the way to a full recovery!

My favorite anecdote (because I saw it with my own eyes) was on a trip to the Lordstown facility here in Ohio. I went with a bunch of Purchasing Managers on tour, pulled around the plant in a group.

We passed workers sitting in lawnchairs, reading newspapers who, when they saw our little train go by, waved to us. There in front of these workers sitting in chairs were other people who happened to be working on the line. We also passed a few weight rooms where there were people working out. They, too, waved when we went by.

After the tour, when we were asked for comments and questions, I asked about how they staggered the break times so some can read newspapers or workout with weights, and I was told, “OH NO. THOSE PEOPLE IN LAWNCHAIRS AND IN THE WEIGHT ROOM ARE ON THE CLOCK . . . THEY HAVE SENIORITY . . . IF THE GUYS (WITH LESS SENIORITY) SCREW UP, THOSE PEOPLE IN THE CHAIRS OR IN THE WEIGHT ROOM ARE EXPECTED TO COME FORWARD TO HELP THEM.

In other words, there were TWO people getting paid at the same time, one of whom had seniority and the other of whom did not . . . two checks . . . one person working.

Until THIS madness is stopped, the bailout should be considered a direct rape of the American taxpayer.

Alabama is so lucky to keep Michigan yankees out of their state! If only all the yankees would all pack up go back north we could enjoy a little peace and quite.
