ATHENS, Greece (Dec. 9) - Masked youths and looters marauded through Greek cities for a fourth night Tuesday, in an explosion of rage triggered by the police shooting of a teenager that has unleashed the most violent riots in a quarter century.

They keep saying this, but the earliest articles I read said the "teenager" was part of a gang attacking police. So wasn't the crime and attacks on police going on already?
“Youths” - I’d like a bit more detail on whether they are Greeks or immigrants. I’d also like to know why the police aren’t shooting more rioters if that’s what it takes to control them.
“So wasn’t the crime and attacks on police going on already?”
Sounds like LA...except the gangs aren’t as well armed...
Police have to shoot more of them. Then and only then will it calm down.
Sounds like they just want to be angry.
Greece has a long history of anarchists fomenting stuff there. At this point, I don’t see any evidence of militant Islamism behind this.
HOWEVER, I definitely think they will be looking to exploit this and use it as an opportunity to recruit and prepare for future riots which would dwarf these in scope.
That doesn't seem to be helping the authorities restore order, unfortunately.
Looks like run of the mill rockchucking muslims celebrating their religion of peace to me...
There is. In the past year 80,000 asylum seekers have entered Greece.
Anyone holding a weapon (gun, rock, bottle, knife etc) will have one chance only to drop it. After that the police should open fire.
I say again.....impose martial law until order is restored. Then address the problems. You can’t address problems until then. But I agree, shoot a few of the protesters that are getting real violent and make the rest think about it. Los Angeles is different.......they don’t care if their people die. Life has no value to them. In that case, go ahead and shoot....it won’t make any difference to them and you’ll thin them out. The same goes for riots in Los Angeles......it’s no longer our city, it belongs to the ghettos. Let them burn down their own homes if they want to be that stupid.
Gee, here’s what we have to look forward to under the O.
Good catch. I watched the vid.
“...started by rampaging African drug gangs with swords, machettes, and knives...”
80000 political asylum seekers without papers. Hmmm.
“Masked youths and looters marauded through Greek cities for a fourth night Tuesday, in an explosion of rage triggered by the police shooting of a teenager...”
So hen are the cops going to do the people of Greece a BIG favor and “off” the rest of these thugs? I’d be out there with twin .50 cals, and rake these bastards into shredded dog food. Brute force is how you end this frigging nonsense... Make a damn good example for the next bunch of cretans having such ideas in their maggot infested skulls.
Didn’t this start out as a general strike? This whole mess has been fomented by the unions in Greece.
This was started by leftists, and cheered on by leftists. Leftists are always on the alert for opportunities. They saw an opportunity to destabilize the social order and to rush into the void with leftist rule.

The industrial action was planned weeks ago but follows days of riots sparked by the police shooting of a teenager.
Look for the union label.
A preview of coming attractions.
Exactly! It's a well planned attempt to overthrow the government by Communists and Anarchists. Nothing more and nothing less. The fact is that they street gangs have been planning and organizing for years to pull this off.
Of course Europeans, all being leftists themselves have trouble dealing with leftist agitation. It is viewed as reasonable.
Sort of like using 'civil rights' in the USA. It's a built in weakness that many Euro's are emotionally attached to some leftist variation or another.
Conservatism and Libertarianism don't really exist in Europe. The European "Right" is also a socialist offshoot, but with stronger nationalist and nativist tendencies. There are starting to be a few liberty oriented groups in Europe, but they have zero political power (except perhaps Vlaams Belang, the Flemish seperatist party)
