Republicans brought socialism to America

Let the record show that it was George W. Bush, the rich Texas Republican, who brought socialism to America, so don't blame it on that African American Chicago Democrat community organizer who made it into the White House. The government takeover of the banking and automobile industries not only happened on President Bush's watch, it was also the deregulatory mania of this president's family, beginning with his father, which took this country into such starkly unfamiliar territory.
What a betrayal of unfettered free market capitalism. And who would have thought that it would be the candidates backed by conservative pundits Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh who made it possible? You actually could trace the destruction of corporate capitalism to the much-ballyhooed "Reagan Revolution" of the movie actor who got his main training for the presidency as a huckster for General Electric, where he honed the message of "getting government off our backs." The revolution of unfettered corporate capitalism led to an era of unfettered corporate greed, which sowed the seeds of its own destruction.

The author of that article is up obama's butt so far he's forgotten what sunshine looks like.
No one said obama "brought" socialism to America...but you ain't seen nothing yet; just wait until he gets in office.
Insofar as all of these latest event being on "Bush's watch", I think he'd better back that timeline up only as far as the beginning of the Pelosi congress.
All of the press/dems (what's the difference) have received their "blame it on Bush" hymnbooks and are all singing off the same page.
Blaming Bush is their version of "carbon credits" (we'll call them obama credits)...a convenient way to blame Bush for whatever obama may screw up for the rest of his life. Obama has been inoculated against any failure with the Bush vaccine.
Maybe GW can put in a bid with the Governor of Illinois for Obama's old senate seat.

Woodrow Wilson brought socialism to America. I say it was Lincoln. From Illinois, go figure.

Another one trying to re-write history. Bush sent Regulators in to put limitations on marginal loans, but Maxine Waters, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Ron Meaks, and others pretty much called the Regulators racist and they all told the American people that there was no problem with Freddie Mack and Fannie Mae. This is where the problem comes from. Let us not forget that it is the demoratically controlled congress who is getting these bailouts through.

Wow, what a delusional idiot. This meltdown is the result of bad loans made possible by bad polititians, i.e. democrats. They are responsible for the un-needed institutions Fannie and Freddie, and also responsible for blocking any and every attempt to reign them in. To add to that, some of the biggest players on Wall street with their hands in this mess are democrats as well, and likewise big democrat donors. This whole melt-down can be traced right back to their doorstep, and that’s the last thing they, meaning the democrats and their media lackeys, want the average American to find out. Leftist schills like this bottom-feeder would love for people to believe that this mess was caused by Republicans and that’s why they are trying to chant it over and over hoping that people eventually believe it. We can’t let them. We need to remind people that when life sucks and taxes are too high they have these slimy socialist commie troglodytes to thank for it.

GWB could have corrected injustice where he saw it, but instead he turned a blind eye to the excessive sentence and suffering of the former border patrol agents. The American courts also proved useless in correcting injustice.

...so don't blame it on that African American Chicago Democrat community organizer who made it into the White House.I guess we'd better get ready for these kinds of comparisons. A "community organizer" when things are dicey (e.g., "...we can't expect a former community organizer to solve a problem of this magnitude overnight..."), a "messiah" when things are going well.

Still though John McPain said that, if elected, he would pay off or re-amortize all the “bad” loans endorsed by the Democrats.

It’s a wonder the author found time away from Folsom Street and the public park to even pen this rant.

I have no idea how old this guy is, but he’s a perfect example of the kind of informed and educated American produced in the last 35 years. . . . NOT!

The author chastizes Reagan as a “huckster for GE”, which is not ultraliberal. The big shortcoming of Mr. Reagan, it seems to me, was his failure to do his homework on judicial nominations.

Well he certainly did preside over the largest constitutional crisis this country has seen...so far. The argument can also be made that the states rights provisions in the constitution were emasculated during his term in office.

What I meant to type is that GE is now a liberal corporation, not the conservative place it was in the 1950s. Same with Disney and so many other companies too.

Hey, it was only until Ronald Reagan became President when social ills were brought to the surface and blamed on Reagan.
When DemocRATs run the White House, all of America's social ills are swept under the rug and reserved for blame if/when the GOP take control.

Well at least someone is willing to place a big part of the blame where it belongs, squarely at BushOsocialist feet.
Of course some of the article is wrong, but Bush is a socialist.
Compassionate conservatism = Republican Socialism.

George Bush didn’t bring socialism to America.
He just gave it a quantum leap forward and took the ideology out of the cellar and put it on Main Street USA.
Socialists no longer have to hide their beliefs or worry about being ridiculed by republicans.

Still though John McPain said that, if elected, he would pay off or re-amortize all the bad loans endorsed by the Democrats.
And he lost.....I voted McCain, for lack of a better choice. I don't think any of these bailouts are warranted, and by getting involved at all, it's screwing things up. In regards to mortgages...If someone makes a bad decision and gets a loan they cannot afford, that's their fault, and when they can't pay, the bank forecloses. Then someone else comes along and buys the same property. Maybe they make it, maybe they don't.....personal responsibility. As to auto-manufacturers, if they can't manage their business, they go under. Maybe someone buys it to run it, or maybe someone buys it to have a fire sale. Either way, the economy keeps going. Bad for those going out, but good for those seeking opportunity.
A world without losers has no winners either.

Let us conservatives beware of any “Republican RINO” candidate from now on who constantly crows about being a “uniter” of the parties and “reaching across the aisle” to the Democrat socialists (who NEVER reach back - period).
Giving Bush his due, but he was fair from the start that he was a RINO, a “uniter” reaching “across the aisle”. RINOs only end up not being economically conservative or really much conservative in much of any way - except maybe militarily.
