The U.S. Attorney in Chicago says ...the corruption charges represent "a truly new low." In Chicago? C'mon! More of a continuation of standard practice rather than a new low.

I agree that a new low in Chicago is almost impossible to imagine, but rank and file Dems in Chicago have been disgusted with the Gov’s conduct for a long time. His approval was 4%. That is extraordinary. How much of this is due to power struggles within Democratic egos of Daley and Obama and Gov. B. remains the question. I see this arrest as helping Obama immensely. He will be able to influence the selection of his successor in a way that was not possible before. Don't forget that Obama beat the Clintons. Obama is a very dangerous man. Very dangerous. Gov. B may just have been the first public fall guy since he was elected.
