Correct me if I am wrong. The appointment of the replacement senator falls upon the Governor. It is clear that Obama was strong arming Blago into appointing the guy he wanted. Blago didn’t like that and tried to get paid for taking Obama’s pick. While what Obama did might not be illegal, he was clearly peddling his new found influence, which makes him a typical Chicago scumbag politician.

Only a fool would believe that Rham or Obama himself were not somehow directly involed in this. My guess is Obama wanted Jesse Jackson Jr. in the seat and Blgo decided he wanted something of substance to make that happen because he didn’t think Jackson deserved the seat.

This stinks of conspiracy...

Maybe they are all starting to fear what BLAGO’s arrest could mean if he starts to sing to Fitz. Again I think it just requires the suspension of disbelief to believe that there wasn’t something dirty about that land deal that the Obama’s got.

Blagojevich Arrested.

hehe

He should have known he was being wire tapped, and he still communicated over the phone. Duh!!! He’s been under investigation for how long, it is about time something came out of it.

As a citizen of Illinois, I’m not surprised at all. Thank God for Patrick Fitzgerald! Probably the only Illinois politician (if you can call him that) that isn’t on the take in this state. No wonder Blago didn’t live in the governor’s mansion in Springfield; too far away from the corruption going on in Chicago. Now I wonder if Fitzgerald will go after the “potential” senators (such as Jesse Jackson Jr.) who were trying to buy their way into said seat? I’d also like to know where Rezko and Obama fit into all this. Woohoo, another Illinois Governor going to prison (hopefully)! Let’s see if we can make it three in a row with the next one!

Oh man, the editor screwed up here. In the text it says that Blego is a Democrat.

I’m sure its an oversight that will be corrected promptly.;)

What a complete moron! Someone said he should have put an ad on ebay selling the Senate seat. I’m sure the Tribune would have given him a free full-page ad, too.

CNN’s got him on the front page. They even mentioned that he was a Democrat in the first paragraph.

Question: Once the mob bails this dirtbag out, does he get to keep playing Governor while he awaits trial?

An FBI says the 51-year-old Democrat was intercepted conspiring to sell or trade the vacant Senate seat for personal benefits for himself and his wife.

No no no, Gov. Blagojevich.

It's supposed to be for the benefit of The One, not you and your wife.

When will these crooks learn how this pyramid scheme works with the Chicago Mob?

If he doesn't go to jail, his punishment will to take a bomb making class from Ayers. (We know how that would turn out...)

Tin foil hate time.....

Barack Obama and Richard Daley will throw Blago under the bus and portray themselves as paragons of virtue in a sea of political corruption. The MSM will gleefully play along, casting Obama as the most noble of all politicians - fighting against the corrupt political machine of Chicago.

I really hope that Blago is a vindictive MF’r who plans to take everyone (OBAMA & GANG) down with him.

The U.S. Attorney in Chicago says ...the corruption charges represent "a truly new low."

In Chicago? C'mon! More of a continuation of standard practice rather than a new low.

Gov. Blagojevich got the call at 6 a.m. It was the head of Chicago’s FBI office to tell him he was being arrested.

“Well, I woke him up,” Robert Grant said. “The first thing he asked was this a joke. He wanted to make sure this was an honest call.”

Grant said he told the governor two agents were standing outside his door, and asked him to open the door “so we can do this as quietly.”

Always remember, no matter how badly your day may have started out, someone else's day started out worse.

Unless, of course, you are a Democrat Governor who got caught trying to sell Obama's Senate seat.
