I don’t know what it was about Kottkamp, it seemed like Crist just chose an unimpressive yes-man flunkie. We thought he’d make a bolder pick. I was hoping he’d go with Jacksonville State Rep. Jennifer Carroll, who was the first Black Republican woman elected to the legislature and a fairly solid Conservative.
I remember her, Navy Gal. She did respectably against rat Congresswoman Corrine Brown in 2000 prior to winning a legislative seat. She’s be termed out for 2010.
I don’t remember exactly what the partisan balance was in the old seat but her 42% against Brown at least matched the GOP base vote.
Nah it would have too much sense to have her run for higher office.
