The article for this thread was written by a Canadian, so the details may be somewhat different for the US.

In the US, early retirement (no medicare) is at 62 or full retirement with Medicare at 65.
Those born after 1942 receive full benefits at age 66;
those born after 1959 receive full benefits at age 67.
