That is my take too. His earlier pronouncements on the economic crisis were way, way off. He likely made some heavy investments (thinking he was buying on a dip) that turned sour. He may well have lost enough $$ to make him question his worldview—that is another way some conservatives become liberal. He certainly looks physically worse and his voice sounds very hoarse.
