A simple coo is stirring up controversy among some holiday shoppers. They believe a new doll was programmed to say Islam is the light. Is that what the doll is saying? You Decide

Another Rorschach Test.
When I read your topic, I was like “come on now, really?!”...
But then I listened to video and it definitely says something “is the light” and it sounds a lot like that first word is “islam”.
Ya, it does. Just listened to the doll on Glenn Beck. What he did not know was where it was made. Bet in some Islamic country? Some heads will roll (NOT) Imagine if is said Jesus Is The Light!
I told my wife about this a couple months ago, but she didn’t get to hear it on TV like I did. One day a week or two later she was filling out an application at target and overheard the workers behind the counter asking each other why this doll had been pulled from the shelf. They made it talk and my wife distinctly heard it say “Islam is the light,” even though she didn’t get to hear it when I told her the story originally. The employees also agreed that that is what it sounded like to them.
Toy companies should make absolutely certain that voice tracks are clearly audible.
It sounded like, ‘Islam is the light’ to me, question is, if the doll isn’t saying that, what is it saying ?
More disturbing is the reporter’s conclusion — so what if the doll says a pro-Islamic message, aren’t we a country of religious freedom? Gag.
“What he did not know is where it was made”
I demand to see its birth certificate!
iemand to see its birth certificate!
Turn me on, dead man. Turn me on, dead man. Turn me on, dead man. Turn me on, dead man. Turn me on, dead man. Turn me on, dead man.
That said, I wish I could've heard the doll without being tipped off to what it might be saying.
"That is very disturbing Ozzie".
Only if you want it too.
I think it pretty clearly says it, and I also think it’s obviously deliberate, given the way the doll abruptly shifts goes from a generic baby “cooing” sound into a distinct phrase.
MM
Except you have to play Ozzy backwards to hear it.
All I hear is, “Math is hard!”
I can see how some people might think it says "Islam is the light," but, c'mon, my niece makes noises that sound similar. I'm not overly concerned about her being a Muslim.
No question. It goos or gahs a few times, and then it says:
“Islam . . . Islam is the light!”
And it doesn’t just say it, it chants it, especially the first “Islam”. I’d be curious if the rhythms and intonations roughly match one of the standard Muslim chants.
