Disappointment in Georgia (Liberal crying ..haha)
The Nation ^ | 12/02/2008 | John Nichols

Posted on 12/03/2008 5:36:32 AM PST by AmericanMade1776

On the eve the last Senate election of 2008, a still-campaigning Sarah Palin declared: "You Georgians are going to have the opportunity to determine the direction this country is going to take."

The Georgians blinked.

Instead of stepping into the 21st century with most of the rest of the country – including the southern states of Virginia and North Carolina, both of which backed Barack Obama for president and replaced Republican senators with Democrats – Georgia opted for the past.

The turn out was not massive, but it was not “light” either.
I have first hand knowledge that the absentee voting was very strong.

I am proud to say we did it, and we did it good.

“It’s possible that this blunder cost him a filabuster-proof Senate.”

A filabuster-proof Senate might make it harder to blame Republicans for everything imaginable.

The radio stations here on Monday were blasting about the rallies on Monday. I laughed out loud when I heard Martin was having a rally with Ludacris vs. Chambliss and Sarah Palin. That about says it all right there.

“It’s disturbing to call anyone who disagrees with you “backward looking”. When people talk of Stalin and Hitler, they say, “How could it have happened?” or “It could never happen here!”...Well, to watch it happen in slow motion, one need only look at articles like this and the irresponsible demagoguery that has become “reporting” these days.”

Spot on!

60 million American voters got it absolutely right in rejection of the marxists. I like my Constitution exactly as it was written.

Therefore, having OHB win and having a filabuster-proof Senate would have been good things?

Good God. The only think you gain from losing is knowing how to lose.

Instead of stepping into the 21st century with most of the rest of the country

Rather say "instead of stepping into 20 foot deep liquid manure with most of the rest of the country"

These leftwingers don’t understand that Obama is celebrating with the Republicans. A veto-proof Senate means that Harry Reid becomes President instead of Obama. If Harry Reid wants something and Obama doesn’t, Obama would need the Republicans to confirm his veto.

Modern Leftists, beginning with the Jacobins of the French Revolution, have for more than two centuries claimed "The Future" for themselves. Human progress in their eyes always flows but in one direction: toward collectivization.

Well, here we are after a few hundred million deaths in the pursuit of liberal Utopia, and yet they still try to tell us that only in their way lies "progress".

No thank you; I prefer to cling to my guns and religion and the notion that the 21st Century belongs to life and liberty, not death and collectivism.

“ha ha .... all those “young voters” and guilty white libs are already getting a glimpse at the liberla dmeocrcta version of “future” and maybe having buyer’s remorse already”

...as much as I wish that were true, I doubt it. With such low turn out, it was probably the fact that you can only hope to get a homeless person OR college student OR dead person to the polls once. Otherwise, it’s back to binging or resting.

After his attempts to derail the efforts of the House Republicans, I can no longer respect Shameless Chambliss and have the same expectations of him that you do. I’m not sure I would’ve ‘bitten the bullet’ and voted for him.

BO did not blunder. He was smart, recognizing that he could not likely get the souffle to rise twice. The dirty secret is that except for the most rabid leftists, the RATS don’t want a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate... certainly BO doesn’t... the BO people want to bury the worst of the liberal agenda b/c he wants to be re-elected in 2012.

After his attempts to derail the efforts of the House Republicans....

If you are referring to the bailout vote, he voted according to his constituents' wishes.

This is the first good news our party has had since 2004 and I can tell you this Senate seat would have gone democrat if McCain somehow pulled off the election. The upcoming near term election opportunities will be much tougher, in liberal states, replacing Obama appointees.
