not me.nI had no idea the White Military Office existed either. is it a newly created position?
I'm just a civilian puke but don't sound like very good qualifications for this job -- whatever it is!
Another Clintonista.
Caldera held two appointed posts in the Clinton administration.
White House Military Office
The Deputy Assistant to the President and Director, White House Military Office (WHMO), Rear Admiral Raymond A. Spicer, U.S. Navy, is serving as the principal advisor to the White House for all military support.
The WHMO Director oversees the policies that affect the WHMO-wide issues or involve Department of Defense assets.
He ensures that White House requirements are clearly communicated to the WHMO Directorates and meet the highest standards of Presidential quality. The WHMO Director oversees all military operations aboard Air Force One on Presidential missions worldwide.
The Deputy Director of the White House Military Office is Mr. George Mulligan. The Deputy Director's primary focus is the day-to-day support of the WHMO.
The WHMO's operational units are the most visible element of the WHMO's support to the President. The WHMO units include the: White House Communications Agency, Presidential Airlift Group, White House Medical Unit, Camp David, Marine Helicopter Squadron One, Presidential Food Service and the White House Transportation Agency. To assure proper coordination and integration between the WHMO units and our customers the WHMO Headquarters organization includes support elements such as Operations; Policy, Plans, and Requirements; Information and Technology Management; Financial Management and Comptroller; WHMO Counsel, and Security. Together the WHMO's entities provide essential service to the President as well as help assure the continuity of the Presidency.
I found this on Forbes.com:
“Louis E. Caldera, age 52 served as president of the University of New Mexico from August 2003 to February 2006, and is currently a tenured member of the University of New Mexico Law School faculty. He served as vice chancellor for university advancement at The California State University from June 2001 to June 2003. Louis was Secretary of the Army in the Clinton Administration from July 1998 until January 2001. He previously served as managing director and chief operating officer for the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal grant-making agency, from September 1997 to June 1998. Louis serves on the boards of directors of IndyMac Bancorp, Inc. and Southwest Airlines Co. and previously served on the board of directors of Belo Corp. from July 2001 through January 2008.”
THIS stands out to me:
“He previously served as managing director and chief operating officer for the Corporation for National and Community Service”
How do you say deja vu in spanish?
All I had to hear is he is a member of CAIR.
White Military Office?!?!?
They forgot to mention B.S. 1978, U.S. Military Academy. just an oversite I guess.
Never heard of him; My UNM days are long behind me.
But if he is a USMA graduate he probably isn’t a complete idiot.
I’d prefer a career soldier with an advanced degree to a academic/administrator who just happened to wear gray for a while the kakhi or OD for a while.
I know something about him and I’m not the least bit impressed. I worked for a nonprofit where he was a member of the Board of Directors. He’s just another political clymer whose claim to fame is being a Friend of the Bills (Clinton and Richardson), i.e., a liberal crony who is incapable of performing productive work.
You suppose "The One" doesn't trust the military to support him, even just logistically? Are we going back to the Clinton years (yeah I know, we are, only worse) when military uniforms were not welcome in the White House?
Wonder what retired Marine General Jones will think about that?
