Late Wednesday night, Mumbai, India found itself the target of a ferocious terrorist attack.

I dont post much on FR but I do alot of reading. So I hope I am doing this right and not breaking any rules.

I thought many of you here on FR would like to see pictures of the Mumbai attacks. These are big pictures that I havent seen on the news. These pictures make you realize just how horrible of an attack it was. There is two pages of pics. Some are very GRAPHIC.

As an American who has witnessed my country go too far in its reaction to terrorism (actually increasing the danger of the threat by our heavy handedness), I beg restraint and caution. Please learn from our poor example. Anger: certainly. Sorrow: of course. Justice: swift and sure. Revenge: please, no.

In the meantime, demand of your government that it protect you. Hold it accountable in elections. Democracy works!!!

BTW, I didn’t see any cowards there. Many army men and policemen gave their lives to save others.

I am very impressed by how the Indian people behaved throughpout this ordeal, doing all in their power to save their guests and the tourists.

Many laid down their lives.

The indian government did tighten security. No indian is allowed to arm himself. Police have to collect their brass and report when and where each one is fired. Indian citizens have to show cause to own a firearm, report monthly to a substation for inspection of the weapon and the ammo, and report in detail when and where each round was fired. When the cause for the firearm goes away, so must the firearm.

The surest halt to violence is direct, accurate, firepower delivered immediately to deminish the threat.
