Now that Florida is a “Blue” state, what are the chances the GOP can hang on to his seat?

Florida is NOT a blue State!! The state government is Republican and the lone Dem in the statewide cabinet (Alex Sink is a CONSERVATIVE!)

-—”...Kathy Harris....”-—

With respect for the woman I admire greatly:

The goal is to win the seat, and hold the seat as long as possible. This will not happen with Harris, unfortunately.

How long have you lived in the state? Jeb Bush walks on water down here. If he wants the senate seat, not even gay-time Charlie Crist can stop him.

Christmas has come early for this Republican in Florida!

I wrote two letters before the bailout, asking my elected officials to vote against it. One went to Connie Mack, and the other to Mel Martinez.

Connie Mack replied, stating that he would in fact vote against the bailout...as he eventually did.

Martinez didn’t even reply.

Martinez has also been on the wrong side of the offshore drilling issue, immigration, etc.

I’m glad to see him go, and I not only voted for him in 2004, I contributed money to his campaign.

Good. I don’t know who we’ve got waiting in the wings, but it’s got to be better than Mel.

Florida is NOT a blue State!!

Well, I'd like to think that Florida is not a Blue State, but it seems that the electoral votes from Florida currently are scheduled to be cast for 0bama, so that makes Florida blue.

I'm hoping that this is a temporary condiditon, but considering how many people move to Florida each year from blue states up north, and the Cubans coming from offshore, I really don't know.

As I mentioned before, Jeb Bush can win, but only if he changes his last name to Smith or Jones, and people don’t remember who is brother was.

I seriously doubt that Jeb wants the Senate seat.

Adam Putnam would be sensational.

He should retire now and let Crist replace him with a Republican.

Hmmmmm, Jeb. Good idea, and he could win the seat. Friends of Jeb, take notice.

In Florida, not nationally, he could win anyway. He doesn’t have to change his name here. Jeb is very well known in this state and though he shares his brother’s very unfortunate view of illegals, he is not George Bush.

“no more Bushes”

Do not confuse Jeb with George. A whole different breed, and it was Jeb who was on the fast track to the Prez’din’cy when he lost the Florida Governorship the first time.

Better then they were if Martinez DIDN’T retire, to say the least.

I voted for McCollum in the 2004 primaries and would be happy to do so again in a general election.

Names to consider: Jeb, Katherine Harris, McCollum, Rubio, and maybe even Crist.

Perhaps it would be more correct to say that florida is a Conservative state.

A large number of conservatives here were just flatly unable to vote for the 'Maverick' under any circumstances.

Marco Rubio, on the other hand, has his heart in the right place. McColumb or Jeb or <wheez!> Crispy just don't cut the mustard.

Anyone know how Rubio feels about offshore drilling?

No such luck. Crist is also a RINO.
