Yo egannacht—That’s exactly how I see it. Palin is a threat to the CINO/RINO crowd. She already beat the Alaska GOP machine. McCain selected her as running mate for one reason only—recapture conservative base. It has been depressing watching this once great patriot and warrior debase himself on the horns of political expediency. A debasement that only resulted in his getting crushed by a cypher Marxist/Muslim demrat candidate.

GOP has defected to demrat party. It no longer is a second opposition party. Conservatives must establish a new opposition party.

I hear ya, friend. Since the election of The Marxist Onada I have felt like I’m the only one who sees things as you do. Responses to my posts have run the gammut from Pubbies having to be more like demrats to outright hate. However, I’ve kept at it and at last folks like yourself are responding.

When I get discouraged I try to remember that some 47% of voters did not vote for The Messiah. That means that almost 50% of American voters are looking for some kind of leadership that will effectively oppose demrat efforts to “fundmentally change the Constitution and America”.

Gov. Palin, having already beaten the Alaskan GOP machine, is our best bet for leadership. Also, she is a true conservative, an effective speaker and is untainted by the Belt Way.

Frankly, IMHO Rush has lost his relevance. We all know the media is biased. We all know the demrats can break the law and get away with it. We all know the demrats can ignore—or worse—the Constitution and get away with it. We all know they lie about their real intentions. Etc, etc, etc.

Rehashing this old news is a waste of time. But more importantly, it contributes nothing to developing an action plan for creating a new opposition party to the demrat party. The GOP has evolved into just another wing of the demrat party and should be absorbed by it. It should be clear to thinking conservatives that the GOP, led my the likes of Sen. McBipartisan, has ceased to be a place where conservatism is welcome. In short, it is no longer an opposition party to the demrats. Conservatives must create a new and genuine opposition party. It’s really just that simple.

agreed, I called his office to suggest he run but as I write this I hear thatb the Dems are already in attack mode over Bush.

Mica is someone who we can rely on with his votes and would not let us down but I bet there would be friction between hiim and christ.

For all the “RINO” talk...is it just because of his amnesty position?

because isn’t his ACU rating one of the highest in the senate?

Hey, I've started a list of all our Senators that someone here on Free Republic has called a Rino.

Snowe

Spector

Martinez

Chambiss

Graham

Coleman

McCain

That's six just off the top of my head and I believe there are others.

So let's see, assuming that Coleman wins the GOP will have 42 Senators. Subtract those 6 who obviously don't meet the litmus test for a lot of folks here and we only have 36 left out of a 100.

And of course I'm sure there are others.

So carrying things to a logical conclusion we have so few who meet the litmus test that we really are in a big minority.

Personally I think making your message so limited as to have only that many Senators is kind of stupid and would kill the party leaving the Dims in complete control.

It makes you wonder about the logic of some people.

So true. I got his cookie cutter letter regarding Obama. He basically responded, Yes, but there is nothing we can do so let's get in line.

Disappointing

Marco Rubio is perfect. He is a real conservative and well respective. He’s a young family man and a good man. Also smart as a whip.

She couldn’t win the majority of the vote as the only ostensible “first tier” candidate in the primary, and her embarrassing performance in the general against a rodent buffoon whose disapprovals were roughly 50%. Do the math. If you can’t figure she’s toxic, I don’t know what more to tell you. The only logical conclusion that can be drawn is that you absolutely wish the GOP to lose the other Senate seat by putting up a toxic candidate. I hope that is not the case.

That was not her fault!

For some odd reason she was left out hanging of the Bushes!!

The GOP was also distastefully guilty of no support, whatsoever, when she surfaced as the candidate, go figure!!!

Guy, it ultimately was her fault. Take a look at the difference between her and Gov. Palin. Palin was ruthlessly and viciously and relentlessly attacked and it had almost ZERO effect on her support amongst the GOP base (if anything, it bolstered it). KH, by contrast, by her bizarre public behavior (and private, as well) had an amazing capacity to repulse a substantial amount of her fellow Republicans. The media didn’t ultimately do it, nor the Bushes, but she did it (or more to the point, could never change the perceptions of herself).

When I had strong Conservatives coming to me with horror stories of her conduct and actions during her campaign, and even afterwards, I knew there was something very wrong with her. And I’m going to tell you point blank, and you won’t like it, but it has to be said, that I concluded she had a nervous breakdown. A lot of people tried to tell her she couldn’t handle the strain and stress of a campaign, refute the public (and GOP base) perceptions of her as erratic, but she wouldn’t listen, threatened to inflict more damage if the nomination was taken away from her, and she predictably went up in flames. It was a train wreck from start to finish and it needed an intervention. The national GOP wrote off the race, and for good reason. There was virtually no scenario imaginable that was going to lead to her winning the general election. None.

Remember, too, you can’t ride on one good achievement when you consistently screw up from that point onwards. Take a look at Lindsey Graham. He did one good thing right during the impeachment proceedings and has been a backstabbing RINO weasel ever since.

That somehow answers my post!

Have you ever met her in person or had any interaction with her!!

As a Swede/Floridian I am a friend of her husband Anders, and also his daughter, I never heard any of your allegation from him, except what you wrote above. As she was an effective SoS,(when the MSM smeared her, even her lipstick) she was the same as congresswoman, and is extremely intelligent. Hopefully Jeb will run!!!

I went by your about page, and like to see all the beauties, but why did you spoil my appetite with that ugly last photo, WHY, ugly, ugly???

"That somehow answers my post!"

The reasons I cited were the reason the national party wisely chose not to waste a dime on a thoroughly unwinnable race. On paper, she was a first tier candidate, in practice by the fall election, she was the equivalent of a nuisance opponent. The money needed to go into races where the Republican wasn't 30-40% behind in the polls. The fact she only lost by 22% was remarkable, but what was telling was that almost a million voters, roughly 20% of those voting, those being Republicans and Independents, broke with her nomination and voted for Nelson. One of the dirty little secrets why the legislature made the SoS office an appointive position beginning in 2002 was because KH was never going to be able to win reelection, or any statewide office again. There'd be a Democrat sitting in that office today otherwise.

"Have you ever met her in person or had any interaction with her!!"

If I had, I would've had a "Come to Jesus" meet with her and explained why she needed to retire and not put herself through one more day of the stress of being in the public eye. Sadly, people close to her were either unwilling or remained blissfully ignorant of reality to tell her what needed to be said about the elephant in the room.

"As a Swede/Floridian I am a friend of her husband Anders, and also his daughter, I never heard any of your allegation from him, except what you wrote above. As she was an effective SoS,(when the MSM smeared her, even her lipstick) she was the same as congresswoman, and is extremely intelligent."

When your wife is a prominent candidate for office or in the public eye, would you let it get out they had suffered a break from reality ? I felt badly for her and the nasty smear job by the media. She did her job as SoS, but she could barely hold onto a heavily GOP Congressional district (she couldn't get above 55% in a district that routinely elected her predecessor with far higher percentages) and started to make sloppy, ill-advised mistakes that were demonstrations of either arrogance (at best) or extreme mental distress (at worst). I heard one report (in private, which I refuse to speak of publicly since I won't give the Dems any more ammo that isn't already public knowledge) that confirmed it had shifted from the former to the latter. All I hope is that she got some help for the enormous stress she was under, even following the campaign.

"I went by your about page, and like to see all the beauties, but why did you spoil my appetite with that ugly last photo, WHY, ugly, ugly???"

Because it is meant as a practical joke.

Good point. If supporting amnesty makes one a RINO, then Ronald Reagan was a RINO. :)

Of course, Reagan also gave us two atrocious SCOTUS justices: O’Connor and Kennedy.

Bush II gave us Alito and Roberts....
