SAy this brings to mind the Inauguration of Slick on his first term...for the ball, the state of Arkansas loaned Hillary a ring that belongs to the state because of a rare yellow diamond. Wonder if it is still in her jewelry box?
To: dascallie
Nevermind the ring 0, buy her some decent clothes.

Wow...Is that a "Let them eat cake moment" huh?
Or should it be phrased "Let them eat pie"?

This is totally appropriate. It's a perfectly wonderful symbol of liberalism at its best. With luck this will be a harbinger of many more bigger and better symbols we can expect fom this administration.
It seems to me the Obama's were, indeed, taking notes during all of those sermon's delivered by Reverend Wright.

Speaking as a jewelry connoisseur, that is one UGLY ring!
Believe me, I can think of far better ways to spend $30K, jewelry wise.
To: dascallie
Unless he used his/their own money no big deal, just a bunch of Marxist hypocrites that fooled the useful idiots, no big deal at all. Had Obama been sincere in his “beliefs” he would of taken that $30,000 and sent it off to the US Treasury.
If a politician plays class warfare game then I fully expect perfection from that politician. It would only be “fair” (Share).

LOL.
Rhodium has been used for honours, or to symbolize wealth, when more commonly used metals such as silver, gold, or platinum are deemed insufficient.
Did you know, The primary use of this element in automobiles as a catalytic converter, which converts harmful emissions from the engine into less harmful gases.
Hey, a two-fer. Michelle can symbolize her wealth AND reduce her harmful emissions.

Obama has made somewhere in the neighborhood of $4 million from his book deal with Bertelsman’s US division Random House.
Liberals take care of their own.
To: Arguendo
Of course the Obamatrons are spending their own money. But the bling is considered by many in bad taste as there is an ongoing financial crisis and recession whose impact is not yet clear.
And of course the Obama’s record like the Bidens shows a woeful lacking in the giving to charity department. (The self-anointed One’s donations to the hate USA church notwithstanding.)

Well, I'll wager most of the ladies on FR already own a touch of Rhodium. I do.
Many of my sterling silver pieces of jewelry are rhodium plated, so next time you go shopping for sterling jewelry, ask to see pieces that are "anti-tarnish". It's no big deal to find items even at Wal*Mart around $29 plated with rhodium.

How much for the impoverished aunt awaiting deportation and his half brother living in the hut in Kenya? Supposedly, their charitable contributions have been rather light. Mmm. So much for "change" and the class warfare rhetoric. It's good they're not "bitter" losers clinging to guns and God, huh?

i have no problem with what he spends his money on, but i agree it’s hypocricy and you KNOW that everyone would be screaming BLUE MURDER were a republican president or president-elect to buy such an expensive luxury item, in what are being called the toughest economic times in decades. THAT is what gets me.

It is payback. She kept her big mean mouth shut while knowing about that nifty little package named Vera hidden down in the Carribean.
She hid out on 9-11 instead of showing up at Ground Zero.
She stayed out of the way so he could fool everyone handily.

wasnt the MSM concerned about the cost of CIndy McCains earrings Yep. Cindy's earrings and Sarah's wardrobe. The media is the real problem in this country -- has been for a long time.
