Ever since Decision 2008 wrapped up, the media have spewed a bunch of bilge about how during the Great Depression President Franklin Roosevelt saved the U.S. economy with gobs of government stimulus, aka "central Planning."
Imagine a movie script that told the true story of how FDRs New Deal didnt put an end to the Depression but instead actually prolonged the pain of the worst economy in American history.

“Could”?
Everything this guy is doing is FDR 2.
What people learn from history is that people don’t learn from history.
The definition of insanity....
BOHICA!
He could learn proper control of his wheelchair that would enable him to make extra-dry martinis for his leftist buddies.
And when people become THIS freaking STUPID and inattentive to their freedoms, THIS is the PRESIDENT they deserve.
The New Deal was a failure that FDR couldn’t save even by trying to overrule Article III by Executive Order.
don’t forget Japan in the 90’s

I wonder if Santayana knows Obama?

I wonder if Santayana knows Obama?

“That’s not the George Santayana I knew”, responded Commander Zero.
Cool!
They deserve him. We don’t.

God is just: that his justice cannot sleep forever.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 18: To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution (emphasis added) in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof.Given that the states actually have the lion's share difference of total government powers minus the limited powers delegated to the Oval Office and Congress by the Constitution, the states actually more power to serve the people than Obama and Congress do. So Gov. Palin, for example, actually has more power to serve Alaskans than the Oval Office and Congress. Likewise for the other governors and their states.10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution (emphasis added), nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
For example, given that the Constitution says nothing about health care, the 10th A. automatically reserves to the states, not the feds, government power to regulate and lay taxes for health care. In fact, Gov. Palin has "presidential veto power" over Obama's health care plan for the simple reason that she has the power to regulate health care while Obama and Congress do not. Again, likewise for the other governors and their states.
In fact, while discussing the Founder's division of federal and state government powers, Thomas Jefferson reflected on state powers to serve the people.
"Our citizens have wisely formed themselves into one nation as to others and several States as among themselves. To the united nation belong our external and mutual relations; to each State, severally, the care of our persons, our property, our reputation and religious freedom (emphasis added)." --Thomas Jefferson: To Rhode Island Assembly, 1801. ME 10:262 http://tinyurl.com/onx4jSo God evidently kept Sarah in Alaska for a good reason. Sarah actually has the power as governor to not only serve Alaskans, but also to do the following. Given her proven track record for taking on the big guys, Gov. Palin actually has more power to make Alaska an example for the other states to follow to restore constitutional limits on the federal government, in my opinion, than she would have as VP - or even president.
“Obama Could Learn a Lot From FDR”
Like what? Maybe having a stroke and dying early in his term of office. I’m all hope now.
He could also learn how to stay away from cigarettes: Use a cigarette holder.
