MSNBC Anchor Frets: Why Hasn’t Obama’s Election Ended Terrorism ?

File this one under “Deluded Expectations.” During MSNBC’s coverage of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, on Thursday, daytime anchor Alex Witt seemed frustrated that the election of Barack Obama 23 days earlier — and the accompanying “global outpouring of affection, respect, hope” — had not caused an end to terrorist violence.

Talking with correspondent John Yang, who was covering the Obama side of the story, Witt conceded that while “you certainly can’t expect things to change on a dime overnight....There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought — at least hoped — would be dampered down. But in this case it looks like Barack Obama is getting a preview of things to come.”

Somewhere along the way, I must have missed the global outpouring of all the affection.

It is really hard to believe people like this are really so stupid.

The affection respect and hope expressed by Chavez and Islamic Terrorist Country leaders for Obama and the new administration coming in doesn't show much hope for an end to terror.

The MSN seemed to have missed some of his global endorsements.

There had been such a global outpouring of affection, respect, hope, with the new administration coming in, that precisely these kinds of attacks, it was thought — at least hoped — would be dampered down..

Most of the people who are happy were never terrorists to begin with. French waiters, German intellectuals and Australian labor union activists may be happy, but so what? Even when they hated Bush with a passion, the most they were willing to do was write an angry letter to Le Monde.

Terrorists and their supporters are also happy. But they're happy because they know that, come January, a weak, inexperienced naif will be in the Oval Office.

Then again.......where have you been? What do you think this election was about? One thing I’ve learned about the U.S., stupid never takes a holiday. If we could isolate a pathogen that targeted stupid, over half the population would be dead in a week. 40% can’t hold a job sufficient to cause them to pay taxes. Captain Obvious is busy covering Obama's cabinet selections right now, and asked me to respond to your question.

Why hasn't Obama's election ended terrorism? Well, Captain Obvious asked me to tell you this:

The Muslim terrorists are about power...just like Obama. He could very well represent a "rival" to them instead of a friend. It may be that the terrorist see Obama as a non-believer for adopting Christianity (*cough*cough*) and are even more determined to terrorize different countries.

Maybe they think since you don't need to prove you're a Natural Born Citizen of the USA to be President, then they will just come on over and run in the next election. I'm sure ACORN will be more than happy to campaign for them and round up "voters". If the can't find enough dead voters this time, they'll just kill a few.

And finally, Obama didn't run on any platform to stop terrorist violence...he ran on the platform to stop American "violence" (a.k.a. The Iraq war). You know, the one that has kept the terrorist "overseas" for the past 8 years and not in our back yards.

But, the entire point is moot...as Obama is going to break out his cutest tea set and have a sit-down, pow-wow Armadenajhad and settle the whole thing. I'm sure for two or three hundred pounds of uranium, they'll off the terrorists for 6 months or so.

IMO the only effect Obama had on the Mumbai attack was to ensure it happened after November 4. This attack demonstrated hatred against, Indians, Hindus, Jews, Americans, Brits, and all non-Muslims. Obama will discover that the world will refuse to revolve around him and his America. Plenty of hate out there to go around.

The sad thing is it’s not funny. The bits and pieces of the upcoming movie about how osamaobama got elected-the video shippets of people who voted for him-is troubling. Those interviewed don’t know who pelosi and reid are. They think the Rs control congress are just a couple of examples-but they did know about the “Palin wardrobe controversy”.
It’s unfortunate that this country has allowed itself to become as stupid as it is. Couple Witt’s comment’s with something as stupid as rosie odoughnuts “fire can’t melt steel” flash of brillance and it’s downright scary.
