I apologize if I misread your intention when I answered your post. I was responding to the idea that only a person who has seen combat can be an effective president or prime minister or leader. I don't think that's necessarily true. I have a great deal of respect for people who have served in uniform, but I don't think it is a prerequisite for the presidency. I do think that the president should show great respect for the men and women who serve. That to me is a prerequisite.

Again, I apologize if I misread your post to suggest that you will only endorse a candidate if they have served in combat.

Excellent point! Obama's victory in winning the Hispanic vote might have had just as much to do with the fact that he flooded Spanish language tv with ads 24/7. McCain hardly responded with counter ads.
