Huffington Post: Free Republic Brings You the News (BARF ALERT!) [Their title]
Huffington Post ^ | Nov 30, 2008 | Chris Kelly

Posted on 11/30/2008 12:25:54 PM PST by Jim Robinson

There's nothing worse than a long holiday weekend for falling behind on the news. What group of clumsy criminals are we bailing out now? And, gosh, will a zillion dollars be enough? You can lose track. Plus what's happening with Heidi and Spenser?

That's why a website like Free Republic is indispensable. I know most people write it off as the tragic mutterings of a bunch of dandruff-addled, pit-sniffing shut-ins without the social skills to form a lynch mob. But that's an oversimplification.

It's also a news aggregator. With one click not only do I get all the headlines I need, I also find out -- in parenthesis -- how they make me feel.

Right Tilt: Attacks Tilt India to the Right (Barf!)

One Dead Rabbi Not the Issue (Barf Alert)

A President Named Obama Changes the Name Game (BARF Alert)

Aligning Hillary Clinton & Sarah Palin is Insulting (Barf Alert)

It's a Madhouse Outside the Gun Shops, Too (Barf Alert)

Putting a Face on Big Auto (Semi Barf)

Morning In America - Could Barack Obama Become the Next Ronald Reagan? (Mega Barf)

Iowa Cafe Swamped with Orders for "Obama Cookie" (MEGA BARF ALERT!)

Second Stonewall: One Gay Man's Rant on the State of Queer Equality (Hurl-icious!)

Okay, so the part in brackets isn't actually a very useful feature. You can be pretty sure how you're supposed to feel is nauseous.

Almost everything makes Freepers throw up at least a little. If an army marches on its stomach, this one isn't going anywhere.

It is encouraging to know where HufPos go to get real news.

Too funny!

Almost any post about Liberal Socialists deserves a barf alert.
It could also be referred to as a high blood pressure alert, I guess, if it would make the Huffys feel better./sarc

“I know most people write it off as the tragic mutterings of a bunch of dandruff-addled, pit-sniffing shut-ins without the social skills to form a lynch mob. But that’s an oversimplification.”

I would think that FR has a much larger number and percentage of outdoors men, hunters, military, police and firemen, gun owners, veterans, history buffs, concealed carry types etc., than the Huffington post.

Yup, real funny! I’ve been meaning to come up with an alternate warning label, but the only thing I can think of is “Heave Ho!” — but that’s just too similar to the word, (’Barf,’) or (’Maggot Gagger.)’

Why, she is describing us as unattractive with poor hygiene! How I wish I could be more like the lovely Arianna, adored by her husband... Oh, that’s right. He left her for another MAN.

“The eight-coil noose” — Yes, AND we know the double Fisherman’s knot for bedsheets. How’s THAT for erudite?

Molon labe, Huffie.

She certainly is a prime example of how we’ve failed in inculcating in immigrants an understanding of our founding and its principles.

HA HA HA HA HA!!!

An entire article on BARF.

I'm impressed with the copy/paste skills. Must be a newly acquired talent.

"the tragic mutterings of a bunch of dandruff-addled, pit-sniffing shut-ins without the social skills to form a lynch mob.

Brains at work have no need to form a lynch mob.

Thank you Jim for this place.
I'm so glad I found it.

LOL. The author forgot one of my favs--(MASSIVE BARF ALERT). And yes I did read a few last night that deserved the parentheses but they were left out in a rush to post--however one said thread did have atleast 5-7 pictures of barfing in some form it was so nausea inducing. It was about Michelle and Barack Obama being marriage role-models. Yep. You said it or thought it, maybe just felt it . . . (MASSIVE BARF ALERT!) :-). Glad to see the liberals are getting their news from the true conservative media :-D.

LOL! FReep 'em if they can't take a joke.

LOL. Exactly.

What can you expect from people who worship the lost Gabor sister? If liberals couldn’t be snotty, they wouldn’t have anything to say.

Tragic mutterings? Hardly. This is my first (and most days, only stop on the news circuit) Always the best information here. And with astute readers posting other links to compliment posted news, one can get the full picture...Not to mention all of the special interest categories, i.e., Gods, graves and glyphs(my personal favorite). Well, it doesn’t get much better. Thank you Jim!

Interesting, the author seems upset over the parenthetical headline editorials (note to self: never attempt to tell a liberal how they should FEEL), but apparently recognizes the convenience of a site that gathers all the newsworthy items of the day.

I appreciate her advertising this site. Yes it will probably bring in trolls (Ah the smell of a zot in the morning, there is only one thing that smells like that, it smells like…victory), but perhaps (a big perhaps, OK, I’m dreaming) it may expose some of the true believers to sensible conversation and logical thought (ut oh, I sense a flaming coming on).
