We're all in pain. We're all stunned. But you are asking questions you know you cannot answer. Why? How will that help anyone? What we need now is strength and courage. What we need now is to regather our forces and to rebuild.
We knew beforehand that we are at war with an enemy. We knew that the world needs to be healed, that it oozes with a venomous darkness, and that darkness will not sit passively as we steal away its dominion. We knew that the more we fight this darkness, the harder it will fight back. We didn't fool ourselves. We decided we will fight and we will win. That is why Gavriel and Rivky went where they went. They went not as tourists, but as fearless soldiers.

Excellent post.
The only problem with your response is the definition of “they.”
Kill terrorists 100:1, no problem. Even kill proclaimed supporters of these groups, no problem.
But we should keep in mind that the announced purpose of these attacks is not to defeat the West militarily. They know they cannot do this.
Their goal is to force a response from the West that will be perceived as unjust over-reaction by Muslims, who will then unite behind them in a new caliphate.
My only point is that giving them what they want may not be the best possible strategy. Right now we are fighting perhaps 10M to 50M who are hiding among about 1B+ Muslims.
The terrorists want to use us to turn all other Muslims to their side. Our goal is, or should be, to encourage or force the “moderate” Muslims to turn on and help us destroy the “immoderate” Muslims.
This is tough, but it appears to have worked fairly well, eventually, in Iraq. Given a couple of years of radical Muslim rule, and even the Iraqi Sunni resistance joined us to fight them.
It looks like we are eventually going to have to kill a bunch of people to stop this war. I know I’d much rather kill 10M radicals than 1B Muslims. But without the cooperation of the “moderate” Muslims, we can’t separate theme out.
BTW, we’ve mostly used the “carrot” approach to encourage the “moderate” Muslims. The Indians may be setting up to try the “stick” approach.
Although using a stick on a nuclear-armed opponent is tricky.
I think hugging and loving have not proven effective; that leaves only one other avenue.
The US should cease all aid of any sort to Pakistan and offer India any military assistance it figures it needs in dealing with pakistan.
"Isn't this what Islam is all about?" and "There is a lot more to come."
"There may be moderate muslims, but there is no moderate islam." Ibn Warriq.
Would we have tolerated 'moderate' Nazis? No.
Would we have tolerated 'moderate' Imperial Japanese? No.
We should not tolerate, nor even acknowledge that such a thing exists, 'moderate' islam.
It's a cancer. It needs to be excised from the Earth by any means necessary.

Unless it involves bombing Iran, count me out.
If Islamofacism is allowed to prosper under politically correct guidelines; if those who speak of this in political terms; refuse to acknowledge the evil as the Rabbi so aptly describes it and by turn, fail to address it's ramifications;the 'backfire' will be upon us - again. . .and again.
Yes. For 2000 years now.
The Lord will help those that help themselves.
Religious fanatics endlessly searching for “the Final Days” give me a pain. When it happens, you’ll know it.
My comment was intended in the context of expecting Muslim terror EVERY day until the Twelfth of Never. During the next four years I expect large-scale ops like the recent incident in India the world over.
Well, what would “moderate Nazis” have been like? They might have stayed within their own borders and not killed all the Jews and homosexuals. Why must we destroy them simply because we dislike their ideology, as long as they leave us alone?
If “moderate Muslims” don’t attack us, I see no reason why they shouldn’t be acceptable. Notably, Muslims didn’t attack us for a couple of centuries prior to about 1970. No reason we can’t go back to that.
The biggest problem with lumping all Muslims together as you do is that it forces those who aren’t our enemies to become enemies, since you intend to treat them as enemies anyway.
I agree.
“A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep.”
Rabbi Freeman’s answer is so good I had to email it around.
They would only have murdered 3 million of their own citizens and taken half of France.
They might have stayed within their own borders and not killed all the Jews and homosexuals.
I seriously doubt that.
Why must we destroy them simply because we dislike their ideology, as long as they leave us alone?
But they don't leave us alone. That's the rub. They'll never leave us alone.
Notably, Muslims didnt attack us for a couple of centuries prior to about 1970.
You need to bone up on your history.
The biggest problem with lumping all Muslims together as you do is that it forces those who arent our enemies to become enemies, since you intend to treat them as enemies anyway.
That's because they ARE enemies. Their ideology is wholly incompatible with Western civilization. It always has been and it always will be. How does one accomodate an ideology which is commanded by 'God' to spread itself by violence?
How does one co-exist with an ideology that demands as part of it's very core your status as a slave?
How does one negotiate with an ideology that states as a core belief that it's perfectly acceptable, in fact it's required to kill you if you don't convert?
islam is an insane death cult. All this talk of 'moderate' muslims is a Trojan Horse in the heart of the West.
Read their book. Then get back to me about 'moderation'.

Not to take away from the message, but please, why are you afraid to actually put GOD in the post. G-d is BS. I am not a Christian, once was but not now, but I take offense at the abbreviating of the name GOD. If people don't like it they can get the he** off of this forum. Period. I see this as a slap at our freedom and another plank added to that of PC. PC, what an abomination that is!
