Space Shuttle Endeavour Landing Thread (4:25 pm EST)

This is the live thread for the Space Shuttle Endeavour Landing (despite the missing tools in space). It was a good mission, however, I do have mix feelings about drinking urine..

“I believe urine is 99.8% water and .02% unused minerals and from a healthy person their is no bacteria in urine so if it comes to dying of thirst or drinking urine I would drink the urine.I don’t know about having it warm though.”

My understanding from reading on survival in the desert is that you can recycle it three times before the concentration of minerals and such becomes toxic, and that is with no other source of water. Do not, however, remember exactly where I read that.

Whatever you do, my dear Kevin... do not knock drinking your own urine. It kept me a babe magnet for better than forty years!

The word LIVE should appear in the headline and the thread should be in Breaking News.

The landing has been postponed for today- we’re under tornado warnings and watches here in Central Florida.

Al Gore is responsible for killing the Columbia astronauts because his green decision to stop using freon propellant to apply the SOFI on the external tank. The other propellant made for spotty applications with all the holes that would absord the moisture in the air, (after all the shuttle is less than a mile from the OCEAN while on the stand) and when you add liquid Hydrogen and Oxygen the ice that forms cracks the SOFI which falls off on launch. My good buddy and best man was a contracting officer at Michoud for many years and gave me up front info on the Mess that Gore created!

BTW Ghadi drank a cup of his own urine every day. Hindu philosophy recommended this libation and he lived a long and vigorous life. Some people say that your skin remains vibrant and hair doesnt turn gray! So belly up to the urinal boys, ( and girls).

De-orbit burn is in about an hour. The weather in Florida is no longer an issue.

...In the 25 years from 1945 to 1970, German scientists took us from the V-2 to the moon, with no Americans lost in flight. In the 25 years from 1983 to 2008, American scientists took us from the Space Shuttle to the Space Shuttle, with 14 killed in flight and the loss of half of the fleet. ...

Really? You mean there we no American scientists or engineers involved from 1945 to 1970?

Idiot.

Re: Al Gore and freon -- it's even worse than the facts you supplied. Think if you had a monopoly on freon, yet it was about to run out, and you had a Plan B, plus a cast of useful idiots...

And spot on about Ghandi, that old fakir. But he did have grey hair.
