BEIJING, Nov. 28 -- China on Friday executed a man convicted of passing sensitive military and political information to Taiwan a day after notifying his relatives through diplomatic channels that they would have a second chance to visit him, his daughter said.

Austrian Deputy Ambassador Stefan Scholz relayed the news of the execution late Friday afternoon to the family of Wo Weihan, 60, according to Wo's daughter Ran Chen. Chen is an Austrian citizen and had been appealing for clemency through diplomatic channels since arriving in Beijing on Monday. She said she had been told her father was executed by gunshot.

I’m sure China would understand if their own spies, like the ones we catch here regularly, receive similar due process & punishment.

That’s exactly where I think we’ve been taking the wrong process. Rather than imprisoning them with 10-20 years, make examples of them and start executing the b@st@rds

China's concern for the lives of their espionage agents is no more than the cost required to train their replacements. This is the nature of totalitarianism/collectivism.

Would it be considered "cruel and unusual" if we stood any spies of theirs that we find in front of a herd of Walmart shoppers on Black Friday?

Oh, the humanity. What will the ACLU have to say about that?

Besides, don’t we also have people in government and industry who helped China with their satellite program by giving them sensitive information?

Which would mean that,at the typical Chinese Embassy in a Western country, 90% of the staff would be candidates for some high speed lead therapy.

Those aren't Walmart shoppers - they're Brooklyn shoppers.
