You said — “There would never have been an America, if the colonists had succumbed to your mindset.”
There would never be an America if the issues for those colonists all *happened in our generation*, versus happening in the generation that it did. And that’s why he’s saying that he doesn’t hold out much hope...
I don’t either. Remember, Obama *was elected* by a very large margin. That should be proof enough... LOL...
My observation of the election, is that the Democrats had to go to extraordinary lengths to pull off a win. Had they simply run a normal presidential election campaign, allowing Barry to stand on his own against McCain, he would have lost miserably.
It took the collusion of the entire MSM, Soros, ACORN, millions in illegal foreign campaign contributions, Hollywood, and a lot of dirty back room dealing in the DNC to push Obama to the top. Obama had negatives that would have killed any other candidate, but they were all massaged or buried by the MSM, or painted on the blogosphere as right wing-nut conspiracies. On top of that, Obama quite literally began running for President the moment he arrived in the US Senate. It was a two year haul, altogether.
That being said, it wasn’t really America that chose Obama. The MSM and Hollywood did. I still trust in the American people, and do not believe for a second that this generation is lost, or that we’ve passed some point of no return as a nation.
This is why I wind up in arguments with people who have a more dour mindset about our condition, and our future.
